Resident Evil Requiem – 15 Hidden Easter Eggs You Can Find in the Game

Resident Evil Requiem poster with Leon and Grace

With a franchise as big as Resident Evil Requiem, we can kind of expect there to be a bunch of hidden easter eggs and references in Resident Evil Requiem to past installments of the series, and we can probably say that there are so many easter eggs to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

These hidden easter eggs and references are found scattered throughout the game, some of them pretty obvious, while others are not so obvious. Here are 15 hidden easter eggs you can find in Resident Evil Requiem.

1. Leon’s License Plate

One of the first easter eggs you can find in Resident Evil Requiem requires you to pay close attention. This is also purely speculation; however, if you notice Leon’s license plate on his Porsche, it reads “ND=9642”. This could be a reference to which Resident Evil games Leon appears in: Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil 2.

2. Sanguis Virginis

When Grace makes her way into the cabin-like building by the helipad, she’ll find a bottle of wine that contains the Double Helix Model to solve the puzzle in that room. If you look closely at the bottle, the brand is Sanguis Virginis, the wine brand produced by the Dimitrescu family from Resident Evil Village.

3. The Tanker

Before you enter RPD, it’ll feel pretty nostalgic if you look around the streets outside the police department. You’ll also see the tanker that separated Leon and Claire in Resident Evil 2, which is still in the same position it was 28 years prior.

4. ARUKAS

ARUKAS is a reference to the original Resident Evil game, which referenced another Capcom title, Street Fighter Alpha 2. This sign references one of the playable characters in the game: Sakura, and Arukas is Sakura spelled backwards.

5. Jawless Police Officer and WELCOME LEON

Inside RPD, Leon finds the skeleton of a police officer missing its jaw. If you recall, in Resident Evil 2, Leon finds that dead police officer before facing his first Licker. That police officer is still in the same position he was in 28 years later.

One of the coolest easter eggs I found was the WELCOME LEON sign we come across in Resident Evil 2. I remember feeling all kinds of nostalgia seeing that sign, dusty and tattered after all these years.

6. Statue Puzzles at RPD

RPD is full of nostalgia, as it’s the place we spent about 60% of our gameplay in Resident Evil 2, so it’s no surprise that we see so many things that we’ve left a stamp on at the police station, including those annoying statue puzzles. Each of them says that the dials are rusted shut, so we can’t really do anything with them, but it’s still cool to see them decades after solving them.

7. S.T.A.R.S. Office

The S.T.A.R.S. Office also holds so much nostalgia, particularly from the original Resident Evil game. You’ll find Jill’s baret, Chris’s leather jacket, and Rebecca’s medical bag inside the S.T.A.R.S. Office.

8. Raccoon City Zoo Tickets

Once you’re able to open JoJo’s locker, one of the things you’ll find inside is Raccoon City Zoo tickets. These are a reward from the Barry’s Scavenger Hunt side quest in Resident Evil Requiem, and are also a reference to Resident Evil: Outbreak, the Resident Evil game, which featured Alyssa Ashcroft as a main protagonist.

9. JoJo’s Locker

According to Resident Evil Requiem director Hideki Kamiya, JoJo’s locker is a reference to the original Resident Evil 2 game and the shonen anime series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

10. Tofu

As you explore the upstairs of RPD, you’ll hear a bouncing noise that’ll remind you of a cartoon sound effect. This is Tofu, a playable character in certain Resident Evil games (it’s literally a giant block of tofu). After running away from the Tyrant and escaping from it, you can find Tofu in either the Operations Room or the hallway behind the Waiting Room. It literally just pops out from behind debris and looks at you.

11. Rebecca Chambers

From the Barry’s Scavenger Hunt side quest in Resident Evil Requiem, one of the rewards you can obtain is the Power Shades Charm. To obtain it, you’ll need to look at a photo of Rebecca Chambers inside Albert Wesker’s desk. This photo contains the clue to obtaining the charm, but it also serves as an easter egg from Resident Evil 2, where you’ll find the same photo in the same position.

12. Cute Bear Charm

This is a reference to Ada Wong and the charm that was on the set of keys that she hands to Leon in Resident Evil 4.

13. Hunk

If you don’t know who Hunk is, Hunk is an unlockable playable character from the original Resident Evil 2 game. He shows up as a boss when you get to ARK, and you end up fighting him as Leon. It isn’t outright mentioned in the game that who you’re fighting is Hunk; however, many people believe it is.

14. Mother Miranda Painting

One of the coolest easter eggs I found was the painting on display in Ozwell E. Spencer’s office. This painting is of a woman in a forested area, with the letter “M” at the bottom, obviously referecing Miranda, the main antagonist of Resident Evil Village, and Ozwell E. Spencer’s idol and inspiration.

15. Victor Gideon’s Jewelry

You’ll only notice this easter egg after unlocking the bonus content of Resident Evil Requiem by finishing the main storyline. You’ll be able to view Victor Gideon in a character menu and zoom in on his jewelry. He’s wearing a ring with a snake emblem on it. This is the same snake emblem seen on Krauser’s knife in Resident Evil 4.
