Resident Evil Requiem Devs Already Working on Story DLC
Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a couple of weeks now, and I’m sure most people have completed their playthroughs of this game already. The ending was a great conclusion to a brand new storyline in the Resident Evil timeline; however, it did leave some unanswered questions by the end of it. Now, it’s been confirmed that a story DLC expansion for Resident Evil Requiem is being developed by Capcom. Here’s all we know about the DLC so far.
Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC Expansion

With the ending of Resident Evil Requiem, even though the ending was complete, it left longtime fans of the series with many unanswered questions or just things that weren’t exactly clear when it came to lore exposition. For example, it is revealed, or at least highly suspected, that Leon had gotten married sometime in between the events of Resident Evil 6, which is the last game he appeared in, and Resident Evil Requiem. Many fans are eager to find out who this mystery girl is.
Another unanswered plot hole is the BSAA’s connection with this whole situation, and where Chris has been this whole time, something Sherry points out when speaking with Leon. And then there’s the question of what Grace and her newly adopted daughter Emily are up to. I suspect that these specific questions will be explored in this new DLC; however, the devs have yet to confirm any details about it. The only thing that Resident Evil Requiem director, Koshi Nakanishi, has said is that the dev team will delve deeper into the story of Resident Evil Requiem, which is still in early development.
The extra content is currently in development; however, much of the DLC content being developed is set to release within the next few months. Other than a story expansion, Resident Evil Requiem devs are also working on bug and performance issue updates, photo mode, which is already confirmed to release in May, and the addition of a mini-game, which is rumored to include Ada Wong in a romance mini-game spin-off.
Director Koshi Nakanishi Confirms DLC
Director Koshi Nakanishi took to social media to send a message to fans who’ve been expecting a DLC release for Resident Evil Requiem. Koshi Nakanishi posted a video on the official Resident Evil X account, and here’s what he had to say to fans of the game:
I’m Nakanishi, the director of Resident Evil Requiem. Our game was released on February 27th, and thanks to our players’ overwhelming response, we’ve already sold over five million copies. On behalf of the development team, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you very much!
We released an update the other day to fix a variety of issues, and we will continue to address any other bugs and performance issues. But that’s not all. We are also planning to add more content.
First, the much-awaited photo mode. On top of that, there’s another surprise coming around May. We’re planning to add a mini game. We hope to continue providing support on Resident Evil Requiem to live up to its positive reception.
Oh…one more thing. We are planning to make extra story content. In this story, we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We’re hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you’ll look forward to it. Thank you again for your support!
The video has already garnered almost 10 million views, and I know fans cannot wait for all the DLC content being added to Resident Evil Requiem in the coming months. If the story expansion is as good as Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose, then we can definitely expect an awesome DLC experience for Resident Evil Requiem.
