Order 13 is an Ode to Horror, Reminiscent of Amazon Warehouse Life
In Order 13, you have one job to do. You must collect orders, ensure they are safely packed, and then ship them out. Should be a breeze, right? As you spend the night in the warehouse, you find yourself alone at a remote fulfillment center. You get to have a friendly cat to keep you company, offering a sliver of peace in this otherwise expansive warehouse enshrouded in shadows. Each shift, you review incoming orders and search the warehouse to retrieve what is needed.
Order 13 Isn’t Complete Without The Cat
One might think the cat is there simply for aesthetics, because before beginning, the player can change their cat from its fur down to its head accessory, and name. In Order 13, the cat is your companion; it depends on your survival. With each night of orders completed, players should make sure they take care of their cat with toys and food. Don’t worry if they disappear, they’ll be back! I made the mistake of not getting back in time, and poor Tuba died of loneliness. So make sure the cat is happy, and each item will tell how much happiness they restore. As days progress, the happiness meter will grow.
So, in short, keep the cat happy. Don’t let it starve. Give it many pets.
Don’t Mess Up Your Order

There are a few things that happen when you get an order. First, it tells the aisle by letter, followed by where in the aisle to find the item with numbered designations. The final piece of information needed before traversing the dark warehouse is the passcode. Without it, the journey is pointless. Pet the cat on the way out.
Avoid any unsavoury things at all costs if possible. There are nifty spots the player can cross through to make the trip smoother, depending on how well they remember the map. Order 13’s warehouse is a bit of a maze; remembering obstacles can be the key to success! Once the needed item for shipping has been grabbed, head back to the shipping nook. Reminder: you are on the clock, so don’t linger – the cat needs to be taken care of. Inside the shipping room, pet the cat. Always pet the cat.
Toss the item for the order on the floor in order to grab a box, then fill it with packing peanuts. I don’t know whether you can overfill the box, but I did learn it is possible to under-pack. Losing $6 off the order was a stark reminder; fill the box. After closing the box, obviously, it has to be taped closed and a shipping label applied. Order 13 warehouse has an order of operations, of course. Hit send and make money! Once you meet the quota, pet the cat again before heading to sleep.
Use the Shop
The shop is a big part of the gameplay loop. There are many useful items found in the shop. Certain things you will definitely need multiples of, such as cat food. It cannot be stressed how important the cat is to the experience. If a player lets the cat’s happiness decrease, they don’t disappear! It is game over! When facing game over, there are two options: restart the day or start brand new.
Later in Order 13, there are new areas to explore, as well as upgrades that allow you to carry more items. Getting the certificates might seem daunting, but there are hidden nuggets for you to find. If the player can get the certificates, they might find out just what exactly happened and why you are here.
Personal Comments
I am by no means good at horror games. I enjoy them until I can’t handle them anymore. That being said, the devs at Cybernetic Walrus who made Order 13 absolutely get a standing ovation from me. They did an outstanding job of making the game creepy, unsettling, creating a level of discomfort I have not had the pleasure, or displeasure, depending on how you look at it, I experienced at the sound of the squelching. I will absolutely be trying to play the game again.
