MLB The Show 26 Makes Massive Update to Online Play Before Launch
MLB The Show 26 launches in a little more than a week with its early access, but today we learned a lot of news regarding the gameplay of the title. Online players have been dealing with some issues over the previous year of gameplay and it appears that the development team has listened to its fan base. Let’s take a closer look at what they discussed regarding online play and what it means for the launch of MLB The Show 26.
Two major concerns from online players have changed in MLB The Show 26
MLB The Show 26 has officially changed two of the biggest complaints in online play. The first is that when batting, the shrinkage from guessing the pitch location on the PCI will no longer be in effect on pitches that are down and away. The big issue with PCI shrinkage was that players would guess the pitch correctly, and it would be spammed during online play. There was a major drawback as if you were deemed to be incorrect, it would raise the difficulty for the hitting.
The second update would take place on the mound, as pitching online would require that they throw from the windup with no men on base. This is a major concern for online competitive play as players would use quick pitching and spam that.
MLB The Show 26 players are excited about the changes as these were two of the biggest issues that the game had in last year’s edition. However, it is not all sunshine and rainbows for the top-tier players as the GOAT difficulty will be returning after much drawback. This is not a mode that a significant majority of players will even touch, but it is something that makes the game more challenging on the competitive circuits.
The game officially launches for early pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition on March 13th. It will be available for everyone to play on the 17th. It will be intriguing to see how these two tweaks to the gameplay will change how the game feels and plays when playing in online modes.
