Dying Light: The Beast Gets Major Update With Lots of Added Content
Dying Light: The Beast has become the most highly rated Dying Light game to release so far, and it’s not that surprising. It blends the usual Dying Light experience of parkour and exploration, with an immersive storyline by bringing back Kyle Crane, the main protagonist of the original Dying Light game. Techland has recently announced a new update for the game, titled Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land Edition. Here’s all you need to know about the free update, which is releasing on March 26.
Dying Light: The Beast Restored Lands Edition

Dying Light: The Beast has become the highest-rated Dying Light game to release. It’s probably because this installment brought back Kyle Crane, the main protagonist of the original Dying Light game. This game shows us what’s happened to Kyle since the first game, and it wasn’t pretty. After the events of the first game, Kyle is kidnapped by someone named the Baron and endures painful experiments for years, until he escapes. Now, he’s out for revenge as he struggles to control his inner beast that contains zombie DNA.
This game definitely popped off at release, something that the series needed after a disappointing release with Dying Light 2. Critics and fans of the series loved Dying Light: The Beast, with some people claiming it to be the best installment in the series. I can definitely admit that the gameplay, the immersive storyline, and the incredibly detailed and beautiful art style made for an entertaining and overall great installment to the series.
Now, Techland has recently announced a major update for the game, which will be released in a few days. This new update is titled Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land Edition. This update will introduce Roadkill Rallies’ vehicular challenges and an optional One Life mode, adding perma-death in this game mode. The update also brings new finisher animations, achievements, unique quest encounters, and various performance improvements.
News Hits Social Media
Polish news community Projekt Parasol put out a full announcement on the update, including what’s included in the update and when it will be released. Projekt Parasol usually covers news related to Resident Evil; however, given that Techland is a Polish-based game developer company, it’s no surprise that they’ve covered news on this major update. Apart from covering what’s included in the update, it’s also been reported that the update will be free upon release for existing owners of the game. Here’s the full post from Projekt Parasol’s official X account:
Polish studio Techland has announced a free expansion titled Restored Land for Dying Light: The Beast. To celebrate, the developers are releasing a definitive bundle called the Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land Edition. This package includes the base game, all previous expansions, and the new content.
In the single-player Restored Land mode, the game world becomes persistent. This means that neither enemies nor loot will respawn once cleared or collected. Wiping out all zombies in a specific area allows the map to return to its pre-apocalyptic state.
The gameplay places a heavy emphasis on survival: players must eat regularly and manage resources carefully, as even flashlight batteries eventually run dry. Side activities on the map are one-time events, forcing players to think strategically.
For adrenaline junkies, the update introduces Roadkill Rallies vehicular challenges and an optional One Life mode, where death results in the permanent deletion of your save file. The update also brings new finisher animations, achievements, unique quest encounters, and various performance improvements.
Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land launches on March 26. All new content will be available for free to existing game owners.
