Alien Deathstorm: Apocalyptic Weather and Hostile Aliens Converge on a Forsaken Colony
Just the word “alien” brings the Xenomorph to mind whenever we talk about sci-fi horror. Now, there’s a new extraterrestrial in town stirring up the Xbox Partner Preview event. Alien Deathstorm has arrived, flaunting as a raw, visceral first-person action-horror hybrid. Imagine if there’s an abomination that looks like the Demogorgon and Predator had a baby. Developer Rebellion (Sniper Elite and Atomfall) thrusts players into a storm-ravaged off-world colony. Quick thinking can save your sorry butt.
Alien Deathstorm – A Colony’s Silence
Communications with a remote off‑world facility have abruptly stopped, and we, the player, are dispatched to find out why. According to Rebellion’s Head of Design, Ben Fisher, the goal is grimly simple: figure out what happened to the colony and save as many lives as possible… if there are any.
We must battle a storm-riddled atmosphere in a scrapped station. At the same time, we try not to become another lost soul. The storm rages on, but it’s not the only rage-filled entity you must survive. An alien lurks and stalks us as we try to complete our mission. We aim to save whoever’s left and escape this decaying colony. A predatory creature roams this hostile planet, and we must find a way out alive, with all our pieces intact.
Who We Are: Combat Engineer

When an emergency happens, we are the first responders! In Alien Deathstorm, the players step into the role of a Combat Engineer, a highly trained combatant ready to jump from the frying pan and into the fire with marked precision. Combat engineers in Alien Deathstorm specialize in:
- Combat (as is in the name)
- Engineering (also in the name)
- Search and rescue
- Demolitions
In the story’s lore, these engineers are the first to arrive when contact with any off‑world facility is lost, acting as the initial emergency rescue. This throws them into the storm way before a full response rescue fleet is initiated. This means they will be out there for weeks before backup is launched to their location. In many cases, they’re the barrier between a colony and total catastrophe.
The Threats in Alien Deathstorm
Alien Deathstorm is a first-person shooter horror that puts the “hostile” in hostile work environment. Our job is to search through the silent-colony base and uncover the reason why it went quest. The plan is made more difficult because the base is crawling with monsters, and the planet’s environmental weather wants to blow us back into space.
The Alien We Find (or Finds Us)

The developers of Rebellion said that multiple horrific creatures are lurking throughout the colony. One of those aliens in particular acts as the debut mascot, revealing itself to be a mandubled hunter with a face that blooms with flaps of sharp teeth. It’s best not to get too close because it also spouts long tentacles that can ensnare prey, and claws that can rip you to ribbons and strings. Its physique is powerful, crafted with muscles that allow it to leap, sprint, and tear down the colony’s infrastructure.
The Deathstorm is a Planet‑Wide Cataclysm

One of the game’s defining features is the Deathstorm, a seasonal atmospheric disaster that tears across the planet with hurricane‑force winds. This core gameplay mechanic forces us to seek shelter when the winds hit deadly speeds. We must watch out for its destructive patterns and stay alert after the dust settles. Who knows what dangers can emerge from those catastrophic conditions?
Brace For A Stooooooorm!
Alien Deathstorm is bound to be an awesome first-person horror that throws us into a life-and-death scenario where you can build your strength, but you never feel safe. It promises environmental storytelling in a high-tension atmosphere with second-to-second ballistic action against a constant threat. This game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Cloud Gaming, and PC. It will also be an Xbox Play Anywhere title and available day one with Xbox Game Pass.
