Xbox and Prince St. Pizza Team Up for Gears of War: E-Day

Chainsaw bayonets and spicy vodka sauce have more in common than you’d think, at least according to Xbox and Prince St. Pizza. The two are teaming up on a limited-edition pizza to hype the October 6 release of Gears of War: E-Day, and yes, buying a slice gets you something to use in-game.

The collaboration, first reported by Xbox Wire, centers on the Emergence Pie, available at U.S. and Toronto locations through November 1. The pizza combines spicy vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, ground pepperoni, and sausage, finished with Carbone Fine Food’s Aglio e Peperoncino Italian Chili Crisp for extra heat. Every purchase comes with a unique code that unlocks a pizza-themed emblem in the game.

There’s also merch for the truly dedicated: a limited-edition pizza cutter modeled after the game’s Prototype Lancer, sold separately through Prince St. Pizza’s online shop.

Why Pizza and Gears Actually Make Sense

Lawrence Longo, CEO of Prince St. Pizza, explained the thinking behind pairing two brands that don’t obviously overlap on paper. “Gears fans and pizza lovers have been the same crowd for a long time. Working with XBOX gave us a way to build for that overlap instead of putting two names on a box and calling it a day.”

It’s a straightforward bet: the people staying up late grinding Horde mode are probably also the ones ordering delivery. Food tie-ins have become a go-to marketing play across gaming, giving publishers a way to reach players outside the usual trailer-and-preview cycle while giving restaurants a built-in audience hungry for both dinner and bragging rights.

What’s Actually in the Game

Gears of War: E-Day serves as a prequel, dropping players into the story 14 years before the events of the original Gears of War. The campaign follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago before they became the franchise’s most recognizable duo, giving longtime fans an origin story for characters they’ve spent years fighting alongside.

The game launches October 6, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Steam, with pre-orders priced at $69.99. That pre-order comes loaded with extras: an Xbox gift card, the Exfil Dom Character Skin, and an Exfil Weapon Skin Set.

On the gameplay side, the campaign supports 2-player split-screen for couch co-op and scales up to 4-player online sessions. Horde Siege, the series’ signature co-op survival mode, returns in an evolved form supporting 4-player squads built around Assault, Marksman, Medic, and Breacher classes. For competitive players, Versus mode offers 4v4 ranked and social playlists.

Under the hood, E-Day runs on Unreal Engine 5, pushing up to 4K resolution at 60FPS.

What’s Still Unclear

Xbox hasn’t detailed exactly how many Prince St. Pizza locations across the U.S. and Canada will carry the Emergence Pie, so availability may vary depending on where you’re ordering from. Specifics on world boss encounters within Horde Siege also haven’t been shared yet, nor has pricing or availability for the Prototype Lancer pizza cutter.

With the release date just over a week away, more details figure to surface as Xbox ramps up promotion. For now, fans looking to combine their pizza order with a little in-game flair have until November 1 to grab the Emergence Pie before it disappears from menus.
