Space Gods, the newest Teamfight Tactics Set

It felt like just yesterday we were exploring the Lore and Legends set for the first time. Today, we learnt about the newest Teamfight Tactics Set, Space Gods. The set will replace the carousel round, a staple of Teamfight Tactics. The replacement of the carousel is likely temporary. Nine Space Gods will take its place, setting your path to the stars.

Teamfight Tactics Set 17 Mechanic

Teamfight Tactics has had a carousel since its inception in 2019. For the first time in the game’s history, a set will not have the carousel. Realm of the Gods will take its place. Every game will have two gods arriving on the convergence. Each god has their own offerings for players. Once you pick offerings from one god twice, they will become your chosen god. After every god offering, Pengu will grant you less impactful offerings. Stage 4-7 will have an armory, which will have a special blessing from your chosen god. There are nine gods in total:

  • Ahri
    • Economy
    • Blessing: Gain 2 gold, 2 XP, and 2 rerolls each round.
  • Aurelion Sol
    • Complete quests for rewards
    • Blessing: Choose one of three trials to prove yourself to Aurelion Sol.
  • Evelyn
    • Trade-off rewards
    • Blessing: Your team gains 10% Durability. Lose an additional 1 health when you lose combat.
  • Ekko
    • Units, stats, or items
    • Blessing: Gain the Anomaly item, which provides unique bonuses based on the role.
  • Kayle
    • Components
    • Blessing: Upgrade a random completed item to Radiant.
  • Soraka
    • Tactician HP and team HP
    • Blessing: Team gains 2 HP per missing Tactician health. +1 current and max health Tactician each round.
  • Thresh
    • Random rewards
    • Blessing: After each player combat, roll a die. Gain rewards based on the result.
  • Varus
    • Units, Duplicators, and shop changes
    • Blessing: Your team gains 10 health for each total star level in your army. Increase your 5 cost odds by 4%.
  • Yasuo
    • Powered-up hexes
    • Blessing: Increase of the power of Yasuo’s hexes by 50%. If you only have 2 hexes, gain 12 gold.

Set 17 Champions

After 100 champions in Set 16, Teamfight Tactics returns to normalcy with 63 champions. Zed is the only champion that is not available to all players in a game. To unlock Zed, you will need to take the Invader Zed augment. The augment will only appear on 3-2.

There are thirteen two-cost champions. One of the champions is Meepsie, a Teamfight Tactics exclusive unit for Set 17.

Set 17 Dates

Set 17 will go live on the Public Beta testing server on March 31st. Players can try out the new set and provide feedback before it goes live on servers. The live server release is two weeks later, on April 15th. Due to the testing, there is a guaranteed chance that most of the information provided will change in the coming weeks.
