First Stand 2026 Match Preview: Another Eastern Opposition For G2
G2 Esports will have a second chance to advance to the Knockout Stage of First Stand. Their next competitor is another Eastern team. G2 will need to beat FearX in the decider match to join Bilibili Gaming. They missed their first opportunity following a 3-0 loss to the LPL first seed. Hans Sama and Labrov will need to be at their best to keep up with Diable and Kellin. They are the best 2v2 botlane at the competition. The G2 bot lane will need to avoid giving Diable and Kellin opportunities in the laning phase. Eddie and Bie kept them quiet in the laning phase. Maybe G2 can take some lessons from that series.

G2 suffered a harrowing defeat at the hands of Bilibili Gaming. While they had opportunities in the series, they were never in the driver’s seat. Game three was the most egregious as they fell 4k gold behind before ten minutes. At their best, G2 can contend with the top teams. They were nowhere near their best against Bilibili Gaming. Their drafting, especially, was far behind where it should be. G2 often gets draft advantages over its Eastern opponents. However, against Bilibili Gaming, they drafted themselves into disastrous positions. Can G2 take their draft learning and improve against BFX?

G2 should deliver a better performance against BFX than they did against Bilibili Gaming. Even then, they are the underdog in the series. If G2 can find pocket picks, they might get an angle in the series. We already saw Clear struggle against Pun’s Volibear. Clear is a potential hole in BFX’s team that G2 can exploit. He has not performed well at First Stand. However, banking on his struggles is not a guarantee. Clear can turn it around, like we have seen him do in the LCK Cup.
