Tinker Bell Shines in Exciting New Live‑Action “Tink” Series Developing at Disney+
Since her Disney debut in Walt Disney’s “Peter Pan” in 1953, Tinker Bell has been a staple of the Walt Disney Company. Tinker Bell has appeared in numerous films and shorts over the years, and Disney is currently developing a live-action drama series featuring the little green-clad fairy for Disney+.
The series, called “Tink,” remains in the earliest stages of development, meaning few details have been revealed about the show, its plot, or its cast. Disney has been eyeing an updated take on Tinker Bell for some time, but it remains to be seen how this upcoming show will compare to other projects featuring the iconic fairy. Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter will be writers and executive producers on “Tink.”
New Live-Action Tinker Bell Series, “TINK,” Being Developed For Disney+

According to Deadline, the new series will be executive produced by Gary Marsh, for Disney’s 20th Television, with Heldens and Carpenter as writers and executive producers. Heldens and Carpenter worked together on the “Friday Night Lights” television series, and both have extensive experience working on hit television shows.
Disney has been working on an updated take on Tinker Bell for a while. Back in 2015, the studio was developing a live-action feature film called “Tink,” with Reese Witherspoon set to star as the titular fairy. The project has since been reworked into a live-action TV series for Disney+. And while the series seems to be a priority for Disney, very few details have been released about the series at this point.
Why Tinker Bell?

The character of Tinker Bell first appeared in J. M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan” in 1904, but most people remember her from her Disney debut in Walt Disney’s iconic take on “Peter Pan,” which premiered in 1953.
Since 1954, Tinker Bell has been featured in much of Disney’s programming and advertisements, becoming a sort of mascot for the franchise. Not only has she appeared during the opening sequence of many a Disney movie and TV series, but she’s also a staple of the Disney parks, spreading her pixie dust across Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
In 2006, Disney created the Disney Fairies brand, with Tinker Bell at its center, surrounded by her fairy friends. With six feature films and a growing cast of fairies, the Disney Fairy brand has helped keep Tinker Bell at the forefront of Disney Studios for multiple generations.
These “Tinker Bell” films feature the voice talents of Mae Whitman as Tinker Bell, a talented tinker fairy, alongside her fairy friends. With an impressive voice cast including Lucy Liu, Raven-Symoné, Kristin Chenoweth, and America Ferrera, these films have seen success both as direct-to-video and theatrical releases.
What Else Is Upcoming For Disney+?

While it could be a while before “Tink” graces our screens, Disney+ has plenty of other content on the horizon to look forward to. “Zootopia 2” will join the streaming site on March 11, after its successful theatrical run.
For Marvel fans, season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again” drops on March 24, as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) continues his war against New York City Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special also drops on March 24, celebrating the iconic series starring Miley Cyrus.
This is just a small glimpse of the projects coming to Disney+ in the near future, but there’s plenty to keep viewers busy as they wait for more news about Disney’s upcoming Tinker Bell live-action adaptation.
