Sebastian Bach is Excited for His Next Journey With Twisted Sister in 2026

Sebastian Bach is fronting the band Twisted Sister

This development is a bit strange, and yet it feels completely right. When singer Dee Snider stepped away from Twisted Sister earlier this year due to serious health challenges, fans braced for the worst. But then the band dropped a name that made the entire rock world do a double take: Sebastian Bach. The former Skid Row frontman (a man who once painted the Twisted Sister logo on the back of his high school jacket with liquid paper goo) is now the lead singer of the band he idolized as a kid. Yep! We wanna rock!

Why Dee Snider Had to Step Away from Twisted Sister

A recap: Snider didn’t walk away from Twisted Sister because he wanted to. He walked away because unfortunately his body — after decades of energetically throwing himself around stages with absolutely zero restraint — finally said “enough!”.

Snider opened up about his situation in detail, revealing degenerative arthritis, a hip replacement, a knee injury, and a previously undetected heart condition. His doctor’s assessment was blunt: “You’re done.” His family sat him down and begged him to stop. His kids pointed out, pretty reasonably, that this wasn’t a financial necessity – it was ego. (Wait, Dee? Really?) And to his credit, Snider actually listened.

“I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self,” Snider told Blabbermouth. He’s definitely not a man giving up. He is someone who knows exactly who he is and refuses to compromise it.

Snider is now 71, has a family compound in North Carolina, is directing his first film, and has been running his syndicated radio show “House of Hair” for 29 years. His life is full – and good for him.

Sebastian Bach Replacing Dee Snider is the Most Logical Move Twisted Sister Could Have Made

Snider has announced his blessing of the decision, he said that “Bas” Bach and his own son Jesse are the only two people he believes can actually deliver in his place. That’s clearly not a throwaway compliment. Snider is famously protective of the Twisted Sister legacy, and he doesn’t hand out praise lightly.

Bach’s reaction to the announcement? Pure, unfiltered joy! On Instagram he posted a photo of himself holding a Twisted Sister vinyl at a record store in British Columbia, captioning it with “I am in shock.” He wasn’t performing excitement for the cameras – the guy was truly emotional. He reportedly got teary-eyed during a 45-minute phone call with Snider before the news broke publicly. Bach wrote:

“I am absolutely honored and overjoyed to pay tribute to the legacy of some of my favorite music and musicians of my whole life,”

And look — when someone who has been nicknamed SMF (Sick Mother F***er) by Snider himself since the early days says he’s a true fan, you believe it.

What the Fall 2026 Twisted Sister Lineup Will Look Like

So who’s filling out the rest of the stage? Guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda remain the backbone of the band – they’re the ones who made this whole thing happen and publicly welcomed Bach with open arms.

On bass, Russell Pzütto (a veteran of Snider’s solo tours) steps in for Mark “The Animal” Mendoza. Behind the drum kit, Joey Cassata takes over after original replacement Joe Franco became unavailable due to some minor health issues. Cassata, who played on Ace Frehley‘s final solo album “10,000 Volts,” is himself a lifelong Twisted Sister fanatic – the drummer still has a binder from sixth grade covered in TS logos. Hah! The enthusiasm in this lineup is beyond extra!

What Sebastian Bach Fronting Twisted Sister Means for Rock Fans

Let’s put this in perspective. Bach is 57, currently mid-tour on his own The Party Never Ends Tour, and none of his existing solo shows are being moved or canceled. He is, by his own description, going to be “one busy mother trucker.” If his track record means anything, he’ll show up and absolutely deliver.

Bach isn’t some placeholder. He’s a vocalist widely considered one of the greatest frontmen of his generation – Snider himself once called him exactly that. Bach boasts a terrific set of lungs for all the energy of the songs. This isn’t damage control. This is a really exciting development for rock fans who want to see Twisted Sister’s 50th anniversary celebrated at full volume. Yay! (And pass the earplugs, please.)

The first confirmed date is September 4 at the Alaska State Fair, with more shows expected to be announced. If you’re a fan of classic hard rock and you’re not paying attention to this, ya really should be.
