LCK Cup 2026 FearX Review: Dark Horses Rise to First Stand Qualification

LCK - League of Legends Champions Korea in LoL Esports

FearX was one of two LCK teams that kept the same roster for 2026. The other team was Gen.G Esports. Towards the end of 2025, FearX began to rise. They continued that rise in the LCK Cup. They took advantage of T1 and Hanwha Life Esports’ struggles to finish second and qualify for First Stand. They will join Gen.G as LCK representatives in Brazil next week.

FearX Player Review

Clear

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.0 (6th among top laners, tied 24th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Renekton (6)
    • Gnar (5)
    • Sion (4)
    • K’Sante (3)
    • Rek’Sai (3)
    • Ambessa (2)
    • Kennen (2)
    • Rumble (2)
    • Aatrox
    • Aurora
    • Gwen
    • Jax
    • Ornn
    • Ryze

Clear was a stable top laner in the LCK Cup. He rarely had disastrous performances. At times, he did fall behind his counterparts, but that was rarely in isolation. He also had some dominant displays to carry BFX over the line.

Raptor

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.1 (tied 4th among junglers, tied 19th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Pantheon (7)
    • Jarvan IV (5)
    • Xin Zhao (4)
    • Nocturne (3)
    • Dr. Mundo (2)
    • Qiyana (2)
    • Trundle (2)
    • Aatrox
    • Lee Sin
    • Lillia
    • Maokai
    • Nautilus
    • Vi
    • Wukong
    • Zac

Raptor played around his bot lane often throughout the LCK Cup. He acknowledged that his team lived and died by Diable and Kellin. Often, his presence paid off to generate leads. However, he had a couple of disappointing performances, which prevented him from matching the likes of Oner and Canyon.

VicLa

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.2 (tied 3rd among mid-laners, 14th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Ahri (5)
    • Azir (5)
    • Orianna (4)
    • Taliyah (4)
    • Ryze (3)
    • Syndra (3)
    • Galio (2)
    • Twisted Fate (2)
    • Akali
    • Aurora
    • Jayce
    • Sylas
    • Yone

VicLa was the weakest link in BFX’s chain last year. They often drafted utility mid-lane champions for him. That way, he could enable his teammates. However, in 2026, he ascended to become one of the best mid-laners in the LCK Cup. Only Chovy and Faker had a higher Total Apex rating.

Diable

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.3 (3rd among bot laners, tied 11th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Ezreal (6)
    • Lucian (5)
    • Yunara (4)
    • Aphelios (3)
    • Varus (3)
    • Ashe (2)
    • Jhin (2)
    • Kalista (2)
    • Sivir (2)
    • Xayah (2)
    • Corki
    • Kai’Sa

Diable is the most exciting prodigy in the LCK. He has taken the league by storm since last year. He is known for his aggression and willingness to test opponents’ mechanics. Oftentimes, he comes out on top. However, there are times when he struggles, and BFX suffers as a result. Gen.G is the only team so far this year that has consistently shut him down.

Kellin

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.1 (3rd among supports, tied 19th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Lulu (5)
    • Karma (3)
    • Milio (3)
    • Poppy (3)
    • Bard (2)
    • Leona (2)
    • Nami (2)
    • Neeko (2)
    • Rakan (2)
    • Rell (2)
    • Renata Glasc (2)
    • Seraphine (2)
    • Thresh (2)
    • Alistar

Kellin was mid-table support for most of his time in the LCK. However, he has found his home in BFX. Along with Diable, they have become the most lethal 2v2 botlane. His playstyle suits Diable. Kellin wants to be the protector, something that Diable needs to be effective.

LCK Cup Review

Only two teams managed to beat BFX in the LCK Cup. Gen.G achieved that feat three times, with T1 winning once. They claimed their spot as one of the best teams in the LCK. Of course, they need to watch out for Hanwha Life Esports’ recovery. The signs were present last year. One aspect that kept them back was VicLa’s performance. With the mid-laner stepping up, they have become a dangerous foe. They have the chance to prove their strength on the international stage at First Stand.
