First Stand 2026 Team Secret Whales Review: A Fiery Winless Exit
Team Secret Whales had the odds stacked against them at First Stand. They had to go against the Final Stand Runner-Up and the LCK Cup Runner-Up. Despite the team’s domestic dominance, they did not follow in CTBC Flying Oyster’s footsteps. They lost 3-0 in both matches, but they did not go down lightly. Will TSW take the lessons from First Stand and implement them in the future?
Team Secret Whales First Stand Results
TSW played two series at First Stand. They lost both of them 3-0.
- Lost 3-0 Versus G2 Esports
- Lost 3-0 Versus FearX
Team Secret Whales Player Review

Pun
- Total Apex Rating – 5.5 (tied 5th among top laners, tied 28th among players)
- Champions Played
- Orn (2)
- Gwen
- Jax
- Olaf
- Volibear
Pun had a good showing at First Stand. We got to see his renowned Volibear, which he used to win lane against. He earned a couple of solo kills against BrokenBlade. Given a better team, Pun could have done more work at the event.
Hizto
- Total Apex Rating – 5.8 (5th among junglers, 20th among players)
- Champions Played
- Jarvan IV (2)
- Naafiri (2)
- Dr. Mundo
- Vi
Hizto was the best player on the TSW First Stand roster. He played a pivotal role in helping TSW gain an advantage in some of the early games. His Naafiri against G2 Esports nearly allowed them to win a game.
Dire
- Total Apex Rating 4.5 (8th among mid laners, 39th among players)
- Champions Played
- Ahri
- Akali
- Aurora
- Galio
- LeBlanc
- Sylas
Dire’s international struggles following his disappointing performance at the World Championship. He solo killed Caps, but that was his only highlight of the tournament. Dire has shown potential domestically, but has not achieved anything internationally
Eddie
- Total Apex Rating – 4.2 (8th among botlaners, 40th among players)
- Champions Played
- Aphelios (2)
- Corki (2)
- Miss Fortune
- Varus
Eddie was either a cost or did not contribute to any of TSW’s success. His laning phase was not terrible, but his mid-late game struggled. He often had unnecessary deaths before objectives or was mispositioned in fights.
Bie
- Total Apex Ratings – 5.3 (7th among supports, 32nd among players)
- Champions Played
- Nautilus (2)
- Rakan (2)
- Thresh (2)
Bie had a decent showing at First Stand. He was the pivotal reason why he and Eddie earned a 2v2 kill on BFX’s bot lane. His Thresh was his best champion. He played a vital part in both games. However, lacked the same impact as other supports.
First Stand Review

For the second consecutive international event, TSW has not shown their best. They were competitive against both G2 Esports and FearX. However, not competitive enough to win a game. Their early game matched up with the teams. They had two bloody series, which is the type of game that they want to play.
However, they fell behind in the macro aspects. Being mechanically better than their opponents works in the LCP. Most of the teams in the league struggle with the same late-game macro. Against the best international rosters, they can not rely on mechanics. All of those teams have some of the best macro in the world. An interesting matchup would have been them playing against Loud. They are a playstyle mismatch, but a team on a similar level to TSW. There is plenty that they can take away from First Stand to improve for the Mid-Season Invitational and World Championship.
