First Stand 2026 LOUD Preview: Causing A Storm on Home Soil

The First Stand Logo, the first international event of the year

LOUD has a unique opportunity for a Brazilian team. They get a chance to play at First Stand in front of a home crowd. The Riot Games Arena in Brazil houses 140 members. That does mean the crowd will not be able to play the same part as in other arenas. Even then, being at home will still have an impact. Can LOUD garner a home advantage and cause an upset?

LOUD First Stand Roster

  • Carlos “Xyno” Ferreira – Brazilian Top Laner
  • Ko “Youngjae” Young-jae – Korean Jungler
  • Bruno “Envy” Farias – Brazilian Mid Laner
  • Song “Bull” Seong-gyu – Korean Bot Laner
  • Ygor “Redbert” Freitas – Brazilian Support

Only one player from LOUD’s LTA South roster remained for the 2026 season. The seasoned support Redbert stayed for his third consecutive year. Envy replaced Jean “Mago” Carlo Dias for the final two series of the year. Internal conflicts led to Mago’s departure from LOUD. Xyno is a rookie in his first split, while Youngjae and Bull came over from the LCK.

Abundant Experience, But the Rookie May Prove Pivotal

Four players on LOUD’s roster have experience playing against top teams. Envy and Redbert have appeared at multiple international tournaments. Youngjae and Bull played in the LCK, competing against the world’s best teams. That experience can help LOUD at First Stand. However, the player who might drive them forward is Xyno. He stood out on a roster of experienced players. During the CBLOL Cup, he was the best top laner and often the best player on his team.

He could be the lynchpin that LOUD needs to get over the line against other teams. However, it is a tough ask for a rookie top laner. He will be going against some of the best top laners in the world. He must first contend with Dhokla. After that, he will face either Kiin or Xiaoxu. Regardless, he should be able to gain learning moments from his time at First Stand.

LOUD’s Home-ground Advantage

Home-ground advantage has always been a point of discussion in sports and esports. Being comfortable and having home support will always play a pivotal role. The crowd might not be large for First Stand, but LOUD will feel their impact. Brazilians are known for their unwavering support. Very few fanbases can match the support that Brazil offers.

LOUD will be the underdogs in their matches. However, they might be able to utilize the home-ground advantage. A win over LYON in the first series will cause a storm in the arena. Even aspects like fight wins, First Blood kills, or a Drake steal could create an engulfing atmosphere for their opponents. LOUD should lean on the crowd to push forward against the lack of expectations.

Prediction

LOUD are the underdogs in their group. Not many expect them to win a series during First Stand. They have some hope following FURIA’s dominance over the LCS at the Americas Cup. However, many have noted that FURIA’s playstyle is different. They also mentioned that FURIA succeeded because of Cloud9 and Team Sentinels’ weak mid-jungle. LOUD will have a chance to prove the doubters wrong against LYON.

LOUD’s Path to Homeground Dominance

LOUD will play their first series against LYON. A victory in that series will see them play against the winner of Gen.G Esports and JD Gaming. Losing to LYON will put them in an elimination match against the aforementioned teams. Two wins in the group will earn qualification to the Knockout Stage. Two losses will eliminate them from the competition. Should they qualify, they will face one of the teams from Group A. The team they play will depend on the position in the group.
