Three-time Super Bowl MVP and Kansas City Chiefs star NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, threw an elaborate fifth birthday celebration for their eldest daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, complete with pastel decorations and face painting stations. The 2025 NFL season ended on a disappointing note for Mahomes. The three-time Super Bowl champion saw his team eliminated from the playoffs, and a knee injury sidelined him during a crucial stretch. But family celebrations like Sterling’s birthday provided a welcome respite from professional setbacks.

The couple shared moments from the weekend festivities on social media on Feb. 21, showcasing a carefully curated party that featured rainbow-colored balloons and a prominent “Sterling Is 5” banner. The Mahomes family celebrated their eldest daughter, Sterling Skye’s, fifth birthday on Friday, Feb. 21.

The three-time Super Bowl MVP has been undergoing recovery and training since tearing his ACL and MCL in Week 15. Outside of football, he leans on support from his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and spends time with family. On Friday, the family celebrated a joyful and major milestone.

The Mahomes couple also shares a son, Bronze age 2, and a younger daughter, Golden, 1. Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, and half-sister, Mia, also joined the birthday celebration. The wonderful day came with rides at the playground, park, and a Peppa Pig cake with pink frosting.

Randi Mahomes captioned on her Instagram post and said, “Happy 5th birthday to our sweet Sterling ❤️ Five years of big hugs and the kindest little heart. You made me a Grandi, and that will forever be one of my greatest blessings. Watching you grow into such a strong, smart, beautiful little girl has been the joy of my life!”

On that same post in the comments, Mahomes responded with a red heart emoji while Brittany Mahomes joined in with some emojis of her own and said, “Crying 😭😭😭We love you 🤍🤍🤍.” Patrick Mahomes and his high school sweetheart became parents in February 2021 when Sterling was born. The family grew in 2022 and 2025 with the births of Bronze and Golden, respectively.

Patrick Mahomes Celebrates Supportive Family

Mahomes gushed over his wife in a statement obtained by US Weekly. Mahomes has previously spoken about how his wife manages their household and supports his professional career. During a 2024 appearance on the “Impaulsive” podcast, the three-time Super Bowl champion praised his wife’s contributions.

On the statement made on the podcast obtained by USWeekly, he said, “She’s a Hall of Fame mom and a Hall of Fame wife. I mean, when you get to come home and your best friend’s there and you can just hang out, it makes you want to be there and you can just hang out, it makes you want to be there all the time and she pushes me to be great and she’s done a lot of great things herself.”

Sterling got a face painting with a floral design during the special birthday celebration. Her younger brother, Bronze, age 2, also participated in the festivities with a Spider-Man-themed face painting.
