Daniel Radcliffe Shares Heartwarming, Powerful Reunion With Tom Felton on Broadway

Young Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe

Two stars from the “Harry Potter” series, Tom Felton, who played the villainous rival character Draco Malfoy, had a very special moment with his previous co-star and close friend, Daniel Radcliffe, who had portrayed The Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter himself, at his new Broadway show performance, “Every Brilliant Thing.” It seems these on-screen rivals have a history of support, with Felton showing support during the premiere of the filmed version of another Broadway act, “Merrily We Roll Along” from late December 2025 in the role of Charley Kringas.

These two screen rivals, while both taking different paths in productions, have managed to remain quite close and supportive of one another in their individual roles they have taken since parting with the 10 year long production of the “Harry Potter” series, starting with “Sorcerer’s Stone” in Sept. 2000 and finally coming to a close with “Deathly Hallows: Part 2” ending in Dec. 2010.

Rivals To Friends: Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton

Back in Nov. 2025, Radcliffe, during a sit-down with Good Morning America to talk about his return to Broadway to discuss “Every Brilliant Thing,” which he described as “a short very funny play about depression,” was met with laughter. Co-anchor Stephanopoulos brought up when Felton had recently been on the show, playing a clip of it with snippets of the two actors in their younger days of film, where Felton cited Radcliffe as one of his early inspirations to come to Broadway. The tenderness and kinship these two actors share are genuinely felt by all as Radcliffe responds in kind.

This wasn’t a new thing, Felton showing his support and admiration for Radcliffe. According to News 18, when on the red carpet at the 2025 Tony Awards last June, Felton said Radcliffe too was supporting him as he took his steps into a debut on Broadway, saying, “My old school chum, Potter (Daniel) Radcliffe, is holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn.”

It would appear that these two have had many get-togethers, as Radcliffe himself would react in an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” discussing the press saying, “Tom and Dan reunite for the first time in 16 years,” to which Radcliffe rebuked it with a hint of annoyance, “Guys, you don’t know our lives. We have hung out a bunch! Just because we haven’t been doing it in front of cameras, there’s this assumption we haven’t seen each other.”

So while Radcliffe has been doing Broadway solo “Every Brilliant Thing” performances, which began Feb. 21st, 2026, for a 13-week engagement until May 24, 2026, which will be an excitingly funny and potentially heart-jerking tale, Felton is cheering his old friend on. It seems this dynamic duo wasn’t meant for the bitter rivalry we saw in their childhood years, if the photos shared are any indication.

Parallel Broadway Journeys and a Lasting Bond

Felton had shared candid shots on Instagram with the tagline, “Broomsticks to Broadway,” where the two embraced in a hug. With the two of them starring in separate Broadway productions, it might be harder to find time to spend together. It doesn’t sound like that will put a stop to them doing what they can to keep lifting each other and supporting one another.

Currently, Felton is reprising his role as Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” at the Lyric Theatre in New York, which began in Nov. 2025 for a 26-week-long engagement. This is his Broadway debut and first time playing Malfoy since the end of “Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” Before this endeavor, he had released a memoir, “Beyond The Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up A Wizard,” and is one of the founders of Six String Productions, dedicated to signing young artists and promoting independence and ownership of material.
