‘Back to the Future’ Star Crispin Glover Sued by Ex-Girlfriend for Battery, Fraud and ‘Slave’ Treatment
“Back to the Future” actor Crispin Glover is facing a lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend who accuses him of battery, fraud and emotional distress, alleging a disturbing pattern of manipulation that she says culminated in violence at his Los Angeles home. The complaint, filed by a woman identified only as Jane Doe, states that the 61-year-old actor lured her from the United Kingdom with promises of a Hollywood career, only to subject her to controlling behavior, forced labor and physical assault in March 2024.
Allegations: Manipulation and Control

According to the lawsuit, summarized by outlets including TMZ and People, the legal battle stems from a relationship she alleges began online in 2015. Doe, described in the complaint as a model from the U.K., claims Glover initiated contact through social media, making “strange advances” and persistently encouraging her to move to Los Angeles over several years.
The filing states that the two eventually met in person in 2023 in Dresden, Germany, where Doe claims Glover showed her Nazi memorabilia from his personal collection. Despite what she describes as odd behavior, she says she maintained contact because he “groomed” her with promises of a new life in the entertainment industry.
By early 2024, Doe alleges Glover had convinced her to uproot her life. According to the complaint, she says he persuaded her to stop paying rent on her European apartment, sell her belongings and move into his Silver Lake home under the pretense of working as his assistant. Once she arrived, she alleges the situation was starkly different.
Doe claims she was expected to serve as a “live-in girlfriend/sex slave” and work for free. She alleges she became entirely reliant on Glover for shelter and money, with no support system in Los Angeles. The lawsuit further claims he tracked her movements and attempted to control who she interacted with, creating what she describes as financial and psychological captivity.
The Incident: March 2, 2024
According to the lawsuit, the situation escalated on March 2, 2024. Doe alleges she told Glover she intended to leave the house to visit a mosque. She claims he threatened to lock her out if she left—and when she returned, she found she was indeed locked out, with her belongings and pet cats still inside.
The complaint alleges that when she attempted to re-enter the home to retrieve her animals and possessions, Glover attacked her. She claims he grabbed her by the neck and placed her in a chokehold, causing a visible wound that she says left a scar.
Doe further alleges that Glover called the police and filed a false report portraying her as an intruder. She claims he later filed a restraining order against her—a filing she says went “viral” and caused lasting damage to her professional reputation. According to the lawsuit, she also alleges that Glover continued to contact her afterward in an attempt to rekindle their sexual relationship.
Glover Denies Claim
In a statement to TMZ, a representative for Glover said that Glover categorically denies the claim and presents a sharply different account. In a statement to the press, his representative said Glover was the actual victim. “The reality is that on March 2, 2024, Mr. Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence,” the statement read. His team says Glover contacted the LAPD, which resulted in an investigation and Doe’s arrest at the scene.
His representatives point to law enforcement records and the restraining order he filed as evidence supporting his version of events. They describe the lawsuit as a “meritless fabrication” and say Glover intends to vigorously defend himself in court.
Seeking Justice and Damages

Doe is suing for battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violations of California’s Bane Act, which protects individuals from interference with their civil rights through threats, intimidation or coercion. She is seeking special and general damages, as well as attorney’s fees. According to the complaint, she claims she is now homeless and suffering significant emotional trauma.
The lawsuit casts a shadow over the eccentric actor, known for roles in “River’s Edge,” “Willard” and for his portrayal of George McFly in “Back to the Future.” No trial date has been set, and none of the allegations have been proven in court.
