It’s Tuesday, and it’s time for your daily devotional. You have a bulwark against adversity. In Ephesians 6, Paul calls it the shield of faith, and it’s able to quell all the fiery darts of the evil one. Your spiritual armor keeps you well equipped. In your daily devotional, you must hold up your protective shield. Whatever comes against you, stand in faith.
Delivered From Impossible Situations
Hebrews 11:34 highlights the type of adversities people of faith overcame with divine intervention: “Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” God’s people have been delivered from impossible situations, making narrow escapes and defeating powerful armies. In this daily devotional, God gave them strength for the battle, and they gained the victor’s cup.
A God Who Can Deliver You
When the three Hebrew boys refused to bow to the golden statue Nebuchadnezzar made, they were thrown into a fiery furnace that had been turned up ten times hotter than normal. It was so hot that it consumed the soldiers who threw them in. The three Hebrew boys were thrown in bound; however, Nebuchadnezzar saw them walking inside the flames. He also saw a fourth man, the Son of God, who was there to protect them from the fire.
They stood on their faith and believed God would rescue them. Nebuchadnezzar witnessed a miracle of protection and made a decree that anyone who spoke against the Hebrews’ God would be cut in pieces. In your daily devotional, rejoice that you serve a God who can deliver you from what seems insurmountable.
What God Has for You
Saul chased David through vast areas of wilderness, desert, and mountainous regions. Saul was determined to kill David after God had forsaken him as king and chosen David. Fueled by hatred and jealousy, Saul pursued David for nearly ten years, as David hid in caves and took refuge in various places outside Israel. David had opportunities to kill Saul but wouldn’t, respecting him as God’s once-chosen. Eventually Saul was killed in battle, and David became king. In this daily devotional, don’t lose faith because what God has for you is for you.
God Will Fight for You
Abraham pursued five kings who had taken his nephew Lot captive. When Abraham received the news that they’d captured Lot, he took his trained servants and armed them for battle. He divided them strategically, striking and pursuing his enemies for miles. Abraham was victorious and took the spoils from a league of kings because his faith in God never wavered.
Gideon was afraid, but God called him a mighty man of valor. When Midian’s huge army came against Israel, God used Gideon and 300 soldiers to defeat them. God struck the Midianites with fear, and when Gideon and his men blew trumpets, broke pitchers, and held out their lamps, the Midianites were thrown into confusion and began slaughtering each other. In your daily devotional, all you need is faith in God; He will fight for you when the odds are against you.
Fight the Good Fight of Faith
In Tuesday’s daily devotional, when you put on the weapons of your warfare, including the shield of faith, nothing can penetrate your armor. God miraculously delivered Abraham, David, the three Hebrew boys, and Gideon. In today’s daily devotional, God delivers you from the adversities of your life, giving you strength for the battle.
