A former member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records said that the mogul “destroyed his life.” Moses “Shyne” Barrow was one of Diddy’s protégés before a shooting incident landed him in jail. The rapper-turned-politician disclosed this during a press conference in Belize. He maintained that the music producer incriminated him when he only wanted a better life.
Barrow’s Press Conference in Details
In a recent press conference, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives, bared his mind. Barrow spilled the tea about how his association with Diddy landed him in a mess. The former rapper became a politician after he returned to his native country of Belize. He divulged this while discussing the disgraced music mogul’s arrest on September 16, 2024. Barrow got into trouble decades ago while on an outing with Diddy.
“When I was an 18-year-old kid, I just wanted to do nothing other than make my mother proud and make Belize proud and be recognized for my talent and take over the world. I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to prison,” Barrow claimed. “One of the things that I would never wish on my worst enemy is to be incarcerated … so I take no joy in anyone’s challenges,” he added.
Barrow Denies Being Diddy’s Close Associate
The politician denied being close to his former mentor and claimed that he never participated in Diddy’s “freak-offs.” Barrow said he never “vacationed” with the music producer and shared no close bond. However, he explained that he reconciled with Diddy recently because he wanted him to invest in Belize. The 45-year-old said his former mentor could give scholarships at the time.
Meanwhile, the duo appeared together publicly several times and at the 2022 BET Awards for Diddy’s award. The entertainment icon received the Lifetime Achievement award at the event. However, Barrow said Diddy “destroyed my life,” but he forgave him for his country’s sake.
Barrow’s Arrest Case
Barrow was implicated in a shooting incident at a New York nightclub in 1999. He was convicted of first-degree assault in the incident that left three people injured. Barrow spent a decade in jail. He was deported to Belize after he finished his sentence in 2009. At the time, Diddy and his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, were also arrested for the shootings. However, Diddy testified that he acted in self-defense and was acquitted of all charges.
In a later press conference, he claimed he was innocent. The rapper said he never fired a gun that night and didn’t own one. However, one of the survivors, Natania Reuben, insisted that Diddy shot her. She reiterated that the producer shot her in the nose, so she saw everything clearly. Reuben said this while appearing on Elizabeth Vargas Reports in March. She also disclosed that she had always maintained this stance, but no one believed her testimony, although she “watched everything occur.”
Diddy’s Arrest
Diddy was arrested on September 16 and indicted the following day. The charges included racketeering, sex trafficking, and alleged “freak-offs” he coerced his victims to engage in. 1,000 bottles of baby oil were discovered in his Los Angeles and Miami residences during a search and seizure. He also secretly recorded women he forced to have sex with male commercial sex workers. Diddy pleaded not guilty, but the court denied him bail pending his upcoming trial.
Conclusion
Several shocking revelations have emerged since Diddy’s first lawsuit. Given Barrow’s allegations, it appears that many more may follow. Nevertheless, the music mogul continues to maintain his innocence. His lawyers have also vowed to fight with all they have.
