\”Attack On Titan: The Last Attack\”: An Epic Finale

dan da dan, sailor moon

Hajime Isayama’s masterpiece of an anime, Attack on Titan, has finally come to an end. After at least a decade, Attack on Titan has reached its momentous and tragic conclusion as fans say their goodbyes to this bold and incredible world. One of the greatest anime stories ever told came about through a drunken encounter between Isayama and a customer at the coffee shop where he worked.

The series revolves around a massive, ongoing war between several fantasy steampunk kingdoms known as Eldia and Marley, with a race of towering creatures of colossal power known as Titans used as weapons in their war. These Titans are towering figures that can crush and devour any humans that get in their way. One of the main characters, named Eren, is manipulated by his father into becoming the so-called ultimate Titan warrior to get revenge against Marley for the death of that character’s aunt at the hands of their soldiers when she was a child.

Last Attack: The Grand Conclusion

After being manipulated and lied to for years, Eren leads an army of Titans to wipe out humanity. They launch an apocalyptic extinction event called the Rumbling, which only ends when his best friend kills him, which ends the event and causes the Titans to permanently revert to their human forms and restore peace. The story somewhat diverges from the typical ending of a fictional story of this sort, with the implication of future Titans emerging to prey on humanity and other conflicts to come rather than some golden age of peace after the credits roll.

Final Thoughts

After a decade of content, Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan series has finally come to an end, albeit with a somewhat bittersweet ending and the implication of future conflicts to come. While the end of the story did not solve all problems or restore everything to the way it used to be, it did see the character put an end to the major threat that had plagued the cast since the beginning.

Other than wrapping up the primary conflict presented in the story, Attack on Titan’s final act does an admirable job of wrapping things up with a satisfying conclusion. It manages to definitively conclude enough of the story while also leaving things open to interpretation to make it a satisfying ending for long-time viewers while not using the long-standing trope of the end of the story resolving every outlying conflict there was to the world of Attack on Titan and leaving just enough mystery to keep people wondering about what would happen to the world after the credits rolled.
