The countdown to Worlds 2026 has begun. To start the hype for the international event, we are looking at every team in the tournament. MVK Esports has had various changes in recent years. They finally settled on a roster for Split 3 of the LCP. They joined Team Secret Whales as another Vietnamese roster on the international stage. They have a stern task. With one Swiss Stage spot up for grabs from the Play-Ins, they have their work cut out for them.
MVK Esports’ Roster

- Ngô “Kratos” Đức Khánh- Vietnamese Top Laner
- Lương “Gury” Hải Long – Vietnamese Jungler
- Võ “Chika” Lê Nhân – Vietnamese Mid Laner
- Nguyễn “Harky” Văn Hữu – Vietnamese Bot Laner
- Nguyễn “SiuLoong” Hoàng Lam – Vietnamese Support
MVK has gone through numerous roster changes this year. Both Chika and SiuLoong have had stints in the academy team. At least two players have filled every position this year. Some have had more. They finally settled on their roster for Split 3.
Inexperience and a Lack of Cohesion
Without a consistent roster, MVK has struggled to reach its peak. They have finally reached a point where they can be happy. Qualifying for an international event is a big achievement. Especially getting past GAM Esports is a notable feat. Being together for Split 3 has positives and drawbacks. With more time under their belts, they could improve further. They have more tape on what they did wrong during the playoffs. With time away and scrims against other Worlds teams, they might figure out their issues.
However, their issues are evident. They lack team cohesion, and their teamwork is lacking. Every player wants what is best for them in the draft. No one is willing to play the weak-side role for a game. That, coupled with weaker mechanics and inexperience, is a recipe for disaster. Unlike other Vietnamese and LCP teams, MVK is slow. They do not look to bully teams early. Instead, the players play for their own lanes. Gury chooses to power farm. That relies on players winning their matchups. Unfortunately, they are not at the level of Gen.G Esports. It will be worse at an international event where the players’ laning phases are significantly better.
Key Player – Lương “Gury” Hải Long

Gury is the only player on the roster with international experience at this level. Of course, that experience is limited. His only experience was Worlds 2024. The roster bowed out early in the play-ins. Gury wants to power farm. However, he is not the same calibre of jungler as Canyon. He will not make crazy plays on the same level. He also prefers to play AP junglers and tanks over bruisers.
The meta is shifting more towards tanks, but champions like Lee Sin and Qiyana remain. All of his lanes want to play aggressively and play to win lane. He must quell the inevitable fires. He will likely play more towards the top lane. Kratos prefers ranged top laners and AD bruisers. He always plays to win, no matter the situation. If Gury can afford Kratos space, they stand a chance.
MVK’s Expectations
In previous iterations, teams had more chances to qualify out of the Play-Ins. There were more spots available. However, there is only one this year. MVK will have their work cut out for them. Every Play-In team is dangerous. Cloud9, FURIA, and Karmine Corp have reached the top of their respective domestic seasons. MVK has their work cut out for them. FURIA is up first for them. They need three series victories against stern opposition. One is likely, but three appears impossible.
The Play-In Bracket
MVK joins FURIA, Cloud9, and Karmine Corp in the Play-Ins Bracket. It is a double-elimination bracket with all best-of-five series. The winner advances to the Swiss Stage. They will face FURIA in the first round.
