This week’s episode of Witch Watch had us laughing the whole way through. Nico, Kanshi, and Morihito get up to shenanigans with YouTube, and magic makes a tea ceremony more interesting than it should be.
Witch Watch

It follows the new witch, Nico, after she returns home from formal training. She has chosen her childhood friend, Morihito, to be her familiar. He’s descended from ogres, though he looks human. He has superhuman strength and fighting skills. They’re later joined by Kanshi, a tengu who has the magic ability to control wind.
Nico must use her magic to help people to further develop her skill and avoid going dark.
*Mild spoilers ahead!
Episode 7: Kan & Nico’s Channel/The Tea Ceremony is a Piece of Cake
In the first half of “Witch Watch” Episode 7, Kanshi and Nico have met someone who told them they can make a lot of money by putting videos on YouTube. When Morihito catches on and sees they have no plan and their videos are haphazard, he takes over production along with a friend.
The videos Kan and Nico make on their own are very silly and get very few views. With the help of Morihito, they have successful videos that even go viral! That is, until the pair become bored with the entire enterprise, as Morihito expected from the start.
In the second half, Nico’s classmate, Suzuka Kiyomiya, asks for help. She’s beautiful and knows a lot of things, but is unable to execute on the things she knows. Her grandmother is going to test her on the tea ceremony, and she wants Nico to use her magic to help her succeed.
Nico uses a spell to link Kiyomiya and Morihito so he can control her body with his own movements. Morihito studies the tea ceremony, and they get ready to practice. But, as they’re about to rehearse, Kiyomiya comes running and says her grandmother has come a day early. So they have to go forward without any practice.
At first, the test is a failure, but Morihito comes through in the end and the grandmother is impressed.
One Last Wave of the Magic Wand
If you aren’t watching “Witch Watch”, you should be. In the story so far, we know that there’s danger coming for Nico, which has Morihito on edge. Her mother’s prophecies are also the reason for Kanshi coming to protect her. We also know that Nico has a mad crush on Morihito. But he hasn’t shown any sign of having the same feelings, at least directly.
“Witch Watch” is a charming series that will make you laugh while you’re wondering what the future holds for sweet Nico. We’re looking forward to the next episode! What fun trouble will Nico get into?
