Performers at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards

Alongside Will Smith, other stars, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers artists Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith, Gloria Estefan, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah, and Victoria Monét, will also take the stage as presenters. Likewise, the organizers revealed an exciting lineup of performers for this year’s ceremony. Namely, various artists, including Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, and Teddy Swims, are performing.

Among these performers are first-time nominees, several Best New Artist contenders, and past Grammy winners, who promise to deliver an unforgettable show. Besides honoring musical achievements, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards pay tribute to two significant themes. First, the show will celebrate the life and legacy of the legendary musical Quincy Jones, who passed away in November 2024 at 91 years old. Second, the resilience of Los Angeles amid the ongoing fire affecting the city will also be highlighted at the awards.

Grammys Comprised of Star-Studded Tributes

On January 29, the Recording Academy announced that the Grammys would feature a star-studded salute to Quincy Jones and touching tributes to the enduring spirit of Los Angeles. In these segments, renowned artists, such as Stevie Wonder, Cynthia Erivo, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will perform. Making the ceremony even more of a heartful occasion, the annual In Memoriam segment will honor those the musical industry has lost.

A powerful lineup of artists, including Brad Paisley, Janelle Monáe, Lainey Wilson, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Herbie Hancock, St. Vincent, Jacob Collier, and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes will participate in the tributes. Hosted by Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year, the 2025 Grammy Awards has been reimagined to support wildfire relief efforts and assist music professionals and performers affected by the Los Angeles wildfire.

To help with the recovery, the Recording Academy and MusiCares’ Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort are accepting donations. Already raised over $3 million since its launch, this initiative strives to provide critical aid to those impacted by the ongoing crisis. The 2025 Grammy Awards will occur on Sunday, February 2, at 8 p.m. ET at the Crypto.com Arena and will be live on CBS and Paramount+. Not only will audiences celebrate music, but they can also contribute to a meaningful cause.

Will Smith Grand Return to the Music Industry

This Sunday, Will Smith will make a notable return to the spotlight with a surprise appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Marking a significant moment for the 56-year-old actor, Smith’s appearance at the show occurs three years after his highly-publicized altercation with comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 ceremony. Although the actor has slowly resumed public appearances in recent years, he has largely steered clear of major awards shows.

As a four-time Grammy winner himself, his participation in this year’s event represents one of his most prominent award show appearances since the 94th Academy Awards. Will Smith will introduce a special musical tribute honoring Quincy Jones during the event. Moreover, the legendary producer played a pivotal role in Smith’s career as the executive producer of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. With this appearance, Smith continues to re-engage with the public and the entertainment industry on a larger scale.

The incident that led to Will Smith’s absence from major award shows occurred at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022. At the ceremony, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head caused by his struggle with alopecia, an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss. Sparking widespread attention, this moment led to the actor’s decision to step back from the public eye for a significant period.
