What is Time?

What is time?

Have you ever felt trapped by time? It can creep up quickly, and it’s as though there’s just enough. As days turn into months and months into years, it’s almost like you have an epiphany. All the memories from days passed start creeping back up, whether good or bad. Then, you begin replaying certain events repeatedly to the point of questioning what could’ve been done differently. However, that’s the beauty of the past versus the future. You can’t change the past, but the future gives us a chance to grow and learn how to make improvements, and this poem speaks to that.

What is Time?

What is time, and why does it always seem to rush by?

Is it our imagination or the thrill of this thing we call life?

It’s almost like from one minute to the next, we forget the important things and stress

Do not worry, and do not try to impress

There’s no need to have the best or stand above the rest

Though there are instances where we’re put to the test

Be proud of yourself and make no mistake

You don’t have to impress, and you don’t have to fake

Time is always changing like an ever-present anomaly to make us conform

But the beauty of it is we all have a choice, and we live in a world where it’s okay to use your voice

So, do not fret and do not fear, for God is with you, and you shall hear

To appreciate what matters and love those who are near

Time can change things in an instant, for it does not wait

It will move things within the blink of an eye, but make no mistake

Just keep holding on and keep the faith as long as you remember

No matter how much time passes, you’re always a winner

Final Thoughts

Time passes and changes quickly, yet it can be indifferent to some and kinder to others. Regardless of the case, it’s important to remember to leave the past behind. Spending too much time thinking about things that could’ve been done differently will waste building your future happiness. The message behind the words in this poem encapsulates what it means to use your strength and voice to live for the future.
