Noboru Kimura

In the late 1970s, Noboru Kimura provided his smooth voice for Lupin III: Part II. He sang the serenade, Love is Everything for the series’ fourth credit sequence. The background accompaniment was provided by the jazz band, You and The Explosion Band. Combining Japanese and English lyrics created a mesmerizing seductive jingle as Fujiko walked along the beach shore.

In 1980, Kimura formed the funk soul band TALIZMAN singing the Ultraman 80 theme song. They would go on to record the soundtrack for Locke the Superhuman and Daigekito Mad Police until 1982. Noboru Kimura changed his first name to his stage name “Harry.” So far, there is no known reason why he chose that name.

Under the name Harry, Kimura would go on to sing for more live-action shows and anime. According to Discogs, this staged name has recorded 69 singles. These singles can be found in Urashiman, Thunderbirds 2086, Sugata Sanshiro, and Barefoot Gen. Kimura later compiled them together for the album Harry Works: Nobura Kimura All-Time Best.
