The Duffer Brothers have recently been putting out lots of teasers for the Stranger Things fans in anticipation for the final season. It has been two years since season 4 ended and fans have been anxiously waiting for the rest of the story to unfold.
Last season, fans were left horrified after watching Vecna’s gruesome trail of destruction left in the Upside Down and the Right Side Up. Fans have continually been speculating what will happen in its final season.
The teaser was sent out as a message to its 700,000 members on Instagram. The photo showed two chairs next to each other, the names Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) labeled on them. It also shows a table with Scrabble letters inconspicuously scrambled, or so it seems.

Robin and Will have not had any screen time together, but it seems that might change once season 5 comes out. Although the two were in the same city in season 3, the two had not had any interaction with one another. In season 4, there was no chance they would be in the same room together since Will and Eleven were no longer living in Hawkins.
Now that season 5 is being filmed, and the entire Hawkins crew will be in the same place at the same time, it’ll make it easier for the gang to prepare themselves for the next battle. The gang will need as much help as possible to finally defeat Vecna and save Max from his grip.
From some of the teasers, it looks like the gang will be splitting up and going off on different missions. Steve, Jonathan, and Nancy seem to have teamed up together since the couple are in Steve’s car in one teaser. If this is the case, then Robin and Will may be teaming up with one another while the rest of the gang pairs up with the remaining people.
Two Outsiders Join Together

If the Duffer Brothers’ teaser is foreshadowing a team-up, then Will and Robin could be helping each other in more ways than one. Although both characters are well-liked amongst their friend group, it does not mean that they feel the same as the rest of the Hawkins gang.
Both characters seem to have a parallel arc with their sexuality, except Robin came out of the closet to Steve while Will has not done so to anyone. However, Jonathan was able to at least hint to Will that he knew and still loved him. Since both characters are going through similar situations, it seems that Robin’s role to Will could be as his role model.
The 80s were a different time for people in the LGBTQ+ community. It was not a safe place for this community until the late 2000s, so anyone in the 80s would have been hiding who they were from everyone even loved ones.
The Duffer Brothers Create A Duo Like Dustin and Steve

Could it be possible that a team-up between Will and Robin might surpass the best match-up (Dustin and Steve) in Stranger Things? Before Steve and Dustin became best buddies, the two barely interacted with one another and seemed like an odd choice for a team. If Will and Robin team up together, then it means that the Duffer Brothers are using the same idea for the two, like Dustin and Steve.
Steve and Dustin’s friendship helped the two immensely with their character arcs. Steve “the hair” Harrington is known for his incredible hair and popularity with females, so it was expected that Dustin would go to him for hair care questions, which formed their friendship. Steve became like a father figure for Dustin and the reason for his confidence boost with girls, while Steve’s personality changed from just the cool dude to a caring friend to the Hawkins crew.
If Will and Robin do become friends like Steve and Dustin, then the duo will be able to help each other grow. Although their main goal is to defeat Vecna and save Max, all of the characters do have a life outside of this action-packed double life they lead. Having the two interact with one another can help since the two will realize they both are hiding their true selves in fear of the backlash a small town can have at that time.
Coming Out of the Closet

Although hiding your true feelings in the 80s is scary, it seems that the two teaming up together will help them open up about themselves. The previous duo (Dustin and Steve) helped each other overcome their issues and made them better versions of themselves. The same will most likely happen for Robin and Will if the teaser is true and the Duffer Brothers are not misleading fans.
The Duffer Brothers know how to put together a great show along with great characters and teams, so if these two do work together then it means that both will be able to fully embrace themselves in the final season.
