The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 Recap

The Boys Season 4 Episode 5, ‘Beware of the Jabberwock, My Son,’ is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Let me tell you, it packs in all the things we love; non-stop action and some evil, dark laughs. Unsurprisingly, it’s got every fan talking since it landed on June 27, 2024! I’m going to be taking a closer look over everything that went down in this wild ride of an episode—but if you haven’t caught it yet and want all those thrills firsthand? Then, put a pin in this article for now and hurry over to watch the episode first. Trust me; it’s better when you’re part of the action yourself!

A Chaotic Opening: The V52 Expo

The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 starts with a funny poke at the whole superhero thing. It’s like they’re making fun of those significant movie events—all those endless Marvel movies that keep coming out. So we’re at the V52 Expo, where they show off all these new superheroes and their wild stories—pretty much just for giggles, but also pointing out how superhero stuff is such a huge business now.

Plus, things get even more hilarious when Will Ferrell shows up! He’s pretending to be some sports coach in “Training A-Train,” a play on all those over-the-top training bits you see in movies about athletes. It gives you a good laugh while throwing shade at how serious those scenes usually take themselves.

Gen V Crossover: Expanding the Universe

It’s astonishing how Sam and Cate from the Gen V spin-off showed up in The Boys Season 4 Episode 5. They appear at the V52 Expo, and it feels like they’ve been there all along, making things more exciting but not stealing the spotlight. It’s like a sneak peek at some exciting stuff that will happen later on—it makes you want to know more about everyone in The Boys. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

The Tragic Arc of Hughie’s Father

Along with the V52 Expo, there’s a sad story about Hughie and his dad. So Hughie hasn’t seen his mom in forever, and she appears out of nowhere and gives Compound V to his dad, who’s knocked out cold and things go way south from here.

The poor guy turns into something else entirely and starts tearing through the hospital like a tornado on legs! Simon Pegg—the actor—just kills it as Hugh Sr., showing us how torn up he is inside when those weird powers make him lose it. It lays down this heavy vibe that makes you think twice about all the wild stuff happening.

Butcher’s Moral Dilemma: The Supes Virus

Butcher’s machinations are the real deal this time. He’s pulling in favors from friends to track down a super-special virus that can take out Supes. It all unfolds at this secret farm upstate—that’s a lab where Victoria Neuman’s cooking up her wild experiments. Get ready for one of the most off-the-wall and messy parts of this season.

What happens next? Well, imagine a bunch of farm animals like you’ve never seen before—they’re all pumped with V, and it turns them into crazy stuff like meat-eating sheep and chickens with tentacles! This part’s got “Kentucky fried massacre” written all over it, mixing some good laughs right into the scare-fest. That mix—funny yet freaky—is just what we expect from The Boys.

Balancing Humor and Horror

Even with some pretty serious stuff going on, The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son” keeps things kind of fun in a gritty way. The farm scenes, in particular, are something else! Who knew sheep that can fly and eat meat would be so funny? These wacky moments make you laugh when all this scary action is happening. That makes The Boys such a fantastic show – it’s got this wild mix of crazy fights and intelligent jokes.
