The stars of Hollywood often drop by late-night television with some fun stories. Nick Jonas had a quote for the ages on his latest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. With the Olympics in full swing and NBC being the official broadcaster of the games, Fallon and Jonas got into a discussion about the Disney Channel Games. This event on the Disney Channel was an Olympic-style mini-series where stars from all shows competed in fun games for charity. However, the former Camp Rock star dropped an interesting quote saying the event was “Love Island on crack.”
Nick Jonas On The Disney Channel Games
Nick Jonas reminisced about the 2008 Disney Channel Games, in which he and his brothers were a part of the competition. They, along with a hundred other Disney Channel stars, were brought to Walt Disney World and filmed the games. Most of the events were relay races or obstacle courses that would put the actors in silly situations. They were all playing for charities like Make-A-Wish Foundation, Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, UNICEF, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. However, the “Jealous” singer hinted that a lot more went down when the cameras weren’t rolling.
“For those that don’t know, the Disney Channel Games were basically the Olympics, but where they would bring in a hundred-ish Disney Channel stars from all over the world and make us compete in silly games. But what it really was, was like Love Island on crack.”
“They would put a bunch of teenagers in the Disney park after hours and just say, ‘Let’s see what happens!’”
For those unaware, Love Island is a reality show where adults all move into a villa together. Some of the relationships last the whole season, while others bounce around to different partners. Nick Jonas didn’t reveal much about the connection between the two shows and allowed fans to use their imagination. It was a great moment of the interview and one that made many people nostalgic.
Nostalgia For The Games
The Disney Channel Games were widely popular amongst fans. Even though the event didn’t run for very long, many remember the limited-time event fondly. The Walt Disney Company knows this as they put the event on their streaming service, Disney+, so fans could relive the games over and over again. The 2008 games had some huge stars. In addition to the Jonas Brothers, the event saw Brenda Song, Demi Lovato, Dylan & Cole Sprouse, and Selena Gomez compete.
