Kwon: Miyagi Do’s New Enemy
A new clip for season 6 was released hours ago. The clip puts the cast in Barcelona, where they are inducted into the Sekai Taikai. This martial arts tournament is where the best come to fight. This prestigious arena will be the battleground for most of part two. After countless enemies, the Sekai Taikai is the final challenge waiting for the teens. The Sekai Taikai is a significant upgrade compared to the All-Valley Tournament. The stakes are higher than anything we have seen in the Karate Kid universe.
While the main cast checks into a hotel, Kwon is finally set against them. Kwon Jae Sung is the secondary antagonist of the sixth season. He was introduced in part 1 as a student to Kim Da Eun, a former ally of Terry Silver. Kwon represents the newly revived Cobra Kai, brought back from Terry Silver’s grasp. Kwon is a tremendous obstacle to the main cast during the Sekai Taikai. Viewers can look forward to Kwon’s terrifying presence in the tournament. His interaction with the gang already prompts potential rivalries with Hawk and Robby.
What About Tory?
Tory is a complicated character in Cobra Kai’s story. For most of the series, she was a villain and member of Cobra Kai. She was initially introduced in season 2, quickly becoming a new love interest for Miguel Diaz. Tory was a consistent rival to Sam, even traumatizing her after the school fight in season 2. Tory was a ruthless fighter whose combat prowess displayed her anger. She remains one of Cobra Kai’s most terrifying contenders. Her return to Kreese also adds another powerhouse to Cobra Kai. She has already shown how good she is against Robby, Sam, and even Miguel.
Season 5 finally put Tory on the heroes’ side, but that did not stick. In part 1 of season 6, Tory’s mother unfortunately passed away from an undetected blood clot. Tory spirals quickly because of her mother’s death, and it leads her down a dark path. This causes Tory to revert to how she was originally. Tory is in a dark space with her feelings and cannot dig herself out. How the gang confronts her in the series will determine whether she joins back. There is already a lot of tension between her and Robby, her love interest.
Part 3 And Beyond
Cobra Kai’s final season is not over yet, but that does not mean the end isn’t coming. Part 3 of Season 6 will be released in January. This will also mark the end of the Cobra Kai series, a consistent favorite amongst 80s fans. Karate Kid will continue to prosper without Cobra Kai. The franchise is heading to new heights with an official Karate Kid film. This film will also bridge the gaps between the original Karate Kid and the much-maligned reboot film released in 2010.
Cobra Kai is never a series without drama, so we enjoy it. One of the franchise’s most hyped moments was the school fight at the peak of season 2. After a season of problems for all the characters, they finally boiled over into one epic brawl. Season 6 does not have the same tone. This is not a problem, as part 2 already shakes things up for the main characters. If you are as much of a Cobra Kai fan as I am, then you’d want to check out all that Part 2 offers.
