America’s Got Talent Last 5 Season Winners and Where Are They Now

The new long-awaited nineteenth season of America’s Got Talent is upon us once again, with the return of our favorite judges and exciting new acts to watch. The show where the golden buzzer reigns supreme is a winner in its own right, with viewers worldwide returning each season for their entertainment fix. In the spirit of reminiscence while we indulge in the current season, let’s take a step back and revisit AGT’s last five season winners and see if they’re still performing.

2023 America’s Got Talent Season 18: Adrian Stoica & Hurricane

Live animal performances are always popular and entertaining. This feel-good duo took out the AGT’s title in 2023 and with great reason. Clever themes including the acrobatics of Hurricane and Stoica’s imperceptible commands won viewer’s hearts. As a puppy, border collie Hurricane was rescued by Stoica and the bond between them is obvious. The pair continue to perform and train others in Italy where they are based. In May 2024, a new furry addition to the family was announced with puppy Diva. With Hurricane as a mentor, Diva is also bound for stardom.

2022 AGT Season 17: Mayyas

The Mayyas, a talented troupe of thirty-six dancers, were total standouts in the seventeenth season following their golden buzzer audition. Their teacher, Nadim Cherfan, celebrates Lebanese culture with spellbinding and precise choreography. A collaboration with Tiffany & Co. saw the Mayyas appear in an ad campaign, further diversifying their audience. In 2023, the group whose name means ‘proud walk of a lioness’, went on to perform with Beyonce in Dubai. The troupe positively ooze girl power, so it’s no surprise their performances continue to be in demand. To see them is joy.

2021 AGT Season 16: Dustin Tavella

The appeal of Tavella’s ability to incorporate personal stories into his acts won hearts from the get-go. The narration Tavella adds when performing centers around the love for his wife, Kari, and their two adopted sons. His mind-blowing talent to mind read unfalteringly correct results saw the magician and singer impress the audience and judges alike. In 2022, Tavella headlined a residency in Vegas. Today, he continues to perform his live solo show and support homeless youths in his community along with Kari.

Described as an artistic visionary, Leake won season fifteen with his spoken word poetry. Not only did he perform with what is considered a niche act, Leake snagged the alluring golden buzzer during his audition. His ability to engage with the audience is undeniable. The emotional subject matter Leake uses in his poetry including family and loss of loved ones cemented his position in the finals. As the CEO of Call to Move, an initiative supporting poets to refine their craft, Leake runs poetic workshops and continue to perform worldwide.

2019 AGT Season 14: Kodi Lee

Kodi Lee is someone who does not let his disabilities restrict or define him. The prodigy singer-pianist was born blind and autistic. Lee’s inspiring audition earned the golden buzzer and firm following from that point on. Not content with just the one, Lee also received another golden buzzer for his performance in AGT: Fantasy League. Joining the cast of previous AGT winners, Lee also went on to perform in a Vegas residency in 2024. Following the release of his original music, Lee continues to perform at fundraising galas and online via his socials.
