5 Unforgettable TV Couples We Can’t Wait to See Hook Up in 2026

TV couples in elegant, vintage attire and masks stand facing each other at a lavish masquerade ball. Chandelier-lit ambiance, other couples dance. Romantic tone.

TV couples are the real reason we all watch TV. It’s not for the “cinematography” or the “social commentary” (okay, maybe sometimes). It’s for the yearning. The angst. The excruciatingly slow burns that make us scream at our screens at 2 a.m. in 2025 gave us some crumbs, but 2026 needs to deliver the whole bakery. If these five TV couples don’t get it together this year, we should personally write a strong-worded letter to Hollywood.

TV Couples We’re Manifesting for 2026

1. Benedict and Sophie From “Bridgerton”

We’ve watched Benedict Bridgerton float through life like a lost puppy with a paintbrush for three seasons now. It’s time for the man to lock in. With season 4 reportedly adapting An Offer from a Gentleman, we are finally getting the Sophie Beckett romance. If you’ve read the books, you know this is the Cinderella retelling that actually hits. We need the masquerade ball, we need the pining, and we absolutely need Benedict to stop being the family spare and start being a leading man.

2. Buck and Eddie From “9-1-1”

At this point, “Buddie” isn’t just a ship; it’s a lifestyle, a religion, and a test of endurance. We’ve survived natural disasters, snipers, and tragic backstories, yet somehow, they still haven’t crossed the line into canon romance. The chemistry is so thick you could cut it with a Jaws of Life. After Buck’s bisexual awakening storyline, the door is wide open. If 2026 ends without them realizing they are soulmates, one could be convinced the writers are just doing it for sport.

3. Janine and Gregory From “Abbott Elementary”

Yes, “platonic soulmates” and “healthy professional boundaries.” But have you seen the way they look at each other under the fluorescent lights of a chaotic kitchen? It’s stressful, it’s messy, and it’s undeniably magnetic. Carmy needs peace, and Sydney needs someone who actually appreciates her genius. Maybe they shouldn’t date for the sake of the restaurant, but since when do characters in prestige dramas make good decisions?

4. Kiara & Rafe From “Outer Banks”

Despite the cast’s hesitation, fans can’t deny the undeniable on-screen chemistry between Kiara and Rafe. Their scenes crackle with tension, charged glances, and unresolved conflict that feels ripe for an enemies-to-lovers arc. Viewers are especially drawn to the idea that Season 5 could explore Rafe’s darker complexity colliding with Kiara’s moral compass, creating a volatile but compelling dynamic. Whether it turns romantic or remains emotionally fraught, this TV couple has already captured fan attention in a way that’s hard to ignore.

5. Stabler and Benson From “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: Organized Crime”

It has been 84 years. Okay, technically it’s been over two decades, but it feels like a lifetime. We have endured marriages, unexpected departures, and intense forehead touching. Stabler is back, single, and arguably more chaotic than ever. Benson is the captain of everything. The universe has aligned. If 2026 doesn’t give us the “EO” endgame we deserve, then what was it all for? Just give us one scene where they are happy. Please.

Why TV Couples Own 2026

Whether it’s lingering glances or perfectly timed interruptions, TV couples have mastered the art of keeping us emotionally invested. These couples have stretched the slow burn long enough, and 2026 feels like the year they finally owe us some payoff. If TV couples are going to keep us tuned in week after week, it’s only fair that they reward our patience. Here’s hoping these TV couples stop circling each other and finally give us the moments we’ve all been waiting for. After years of teasing, unresolved tension and longing looks, TV couples must finally deliver romance.
