Volkan Konak was a Turkish singer who collapsed during his concert in Iskele, Turkish Cyprus. The news has been confirmed by the Health Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Fans have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to express their condolences to his family and mourn his passing.

Konak was performing at a hotel venue in Iskele when he experienced a sudden medical emergency during the show. Audience members administered first aid until emergency responders could make it to the scene, and Konak was transported to Gazimagusa State Hospital at 00:17 local time. He was pronounced dead just 25 minutes later at 00:42.
Death is confirmed by TRNC
The TRNC Health Ministry released this written statement, “Artist Volkan Konak was admitted to Magusa State Hospital at 00:17 after suddenly falling ill. Despite all interventions, he unfortunately passed away at 00:42. A detailed statement will be issued by the hospital’s chief medical officer.”
Famagusta State Hospital releases statement
The 112 Emergency Call Center notified the emergency health team around 23:23 on March 30, 2025, and they quickly responded to the hotel where Konak was performing. They started CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) in the concert area for approximately 40 minutes before he was intubated and transferred at 00:10.
The artist entered the hospital as “Ex-duhul” at 00:17 and was immediately taken to the CPR room, where a team consisting of an anesthesiologist, emergency room physicians, internal medicine, and cardiologist specialists applied advanced life support for another 25 minutes. Unfortunately, despite all medical interventions, no response was received, and Konak was pronounced dead at 00:42.
“We wish God’s mercy to the late Volkan Konak and offer our condolences to his family, relatives, and loved ones,” the speaker for the Famagusta State Hospital’s Chief Physician’s Office said.
