Trigun Stampede Releases Deluxe Limited Edition Blu-Ray Collection

Trigun Stampede, the 2023 reimagining of the 1998 classic Trigun, based on the famous manga penned and drawn by Yasuhiro Nightow, was a welcome reintroduction to the future post-apocalyptic world of No Man’s Land. While fans of the old anime needed no second invitation to get into Studio Orange’s animated work, those new to the anime will no doubt enjoy the visual spectacle that is the Trigun Stampede.

As fans wait on the rumors of a second season, there is some good news in the form of a blue-ray edition of the popular anime. You have two options: the Trigun Limited Blue-ray Deluxe Edition and the regular Trigun Stampede Complete Series Blue-ray Edition. We will explain the differences between the two versions and what fans of the anime who want a physical Trigun item stand to gain.

What’s Included in the Deluxe Limited Box Set?

Let’s get into what those who purchase the Trigun Stampede Deluxe Limited Edition will receive. It is the Blu-ray of the complete series, with special features including behind-the-scenes interviews. The Limited Edition comes with two additional discs of bonus content not found in the regular version, for a total of four discs.

In addition to the complete series and bonus content, there are also other useful goodies in the box: drink coasters, art cards, and more. All are placed inside a Deluxe Limited Edition Box Set that feels like the dessert and the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the anime. Also included in the set is a 12 x 18-inch copy of the Bernardelli Times, the news agency that is trying to track down the man with a $60 billion bounty on his head.

Who is the Trigun Limited Blu-Ray Box Set for?

If you are a fan of Trigun, the anime, and/or the manga and wish to possess something that is tangible and provides that rustic feel of the world in which the story takes place, then this box set is a great buy. Also, if you are a parent or someone who wishes to gift someone the world of Trigun, then the Stampede Limited Edition is a great gift option.

A quick word on the regular Blu-ray set. For those who just wish to own the complete series in Blu-ray form, then that is the way to go. It is basically two discs that cover the entire season. Naturally, it is the cheaper option, but it is worth the investment for those who want to get a feel for the media they choose to consume.

Why Trigun Stampede Matters

If somehow you have read this far and you don’t know anything about Trigun, here’s a quick introduction. Trigun (1998) was one of the most renowned series in Western anime at the time. Trigun had a huge impact on the anime fandom in the 1990s, popularizing the genre of space western and becoming a worthy challenger to Cowboy Bebop, which had started airing around the same time.

Trigun takes the theme of a wasteland and a post-apocalyptic future and adds the elements of humor, irony, and growing evil. While Trigun (1998) had a humorous streak, its core story was anything but. Thus, anime is not necessarily for everyone. The 2023 remake is attempting to be more friendly to a wider audience.
