LCK 2026 Regular Season Day Six: Two Disastrous Performances
Only one series went to a game three in the first week of the LCK. Many expected there to be at least one today. Hanwha Life Esports Versus Dplus Kia and T1 battling Gen.G Esports promised two close series. However, that was not the case, as it was another four-game day in the LCK. HLE and Gen.G both ran away 2-0 victors to move to a 2-1 series record.
Dplus KIA Versus Hanwha Life Esports

Game One – Teamfighting Struggles
HLE were in the driver’s seat for most of game one. They surged to a significant lead, and HLE had the game in the bag. However, mistakes and mispositioning in teamfights allowed DK a chance to stay in the game. ShowMaker often found a road to trade in fights. Kanavi and Zeus stood tall to ensure HLE would go 1-0 up.
Game Two – Kanavi Runs Everything
Kanavi and Zeka were put behind early because of Lucid’s pathing. One botlane dive from the HLE mid-jungle duo gave Kanavi three kills. He took control of the rift from that point onwards. He had one unnecessary death, but he was always around to create space and secure kills. For most of the game, HLE’s gold lead was on Kanavi. He led HLE to victory in the series.

T1 Versus Gen.G Esports

Game One – T1 Unable To Snowball
T1 drafted the sidelanes that needed to be ahead in the game. However, Doran died solo to Kiin, while the botlanes were even in gold. T1 could not even stack Drakes early for that win condition. Gen.G won one teamfight around the Rift Herald, and the game snowballed from there. T1 drafted themselves into a hole once again.
Game Two – Canyon Controls The Early Game
Canyon invades Oner at level two to prevent him from impacting the map. Gen.G has an early gold lead, but then it explodes after one teamfight on the Chemtech Soul point. T1 has no chance from that point on as Gen.G targets Peyz to prevent him from having space in the game.
Champions Played

- Doran – Jayce, Aurora
- Oner – Jarvan IV, Pantheon
- Faker – Ryze, Galio

Kanavi’s Aggression Pays Off
Kanavi has shown he is not willing to change his playstyle in the LCK. As a result, HLE lives and dies by Kanavi. If his plays work out, they win; if they don’t, HLE can throw away their leads. Today was one of the days when his aggression paid off. He was the sole reason why they stormed to a game two victory. DK barely showed up for the series today, with their best moments coming from HLE’s mistakes.
Picking Up the Pieces
There is little positive you can say about T1 from today’s series. Their performance was lackluster across the board. Every lane lost out to their counterparts. Doran and Faker’s laning phases are not up to scratch to compete with the top teams. As a result, Oner teams have targeted Oner to keep him quiet in games. Canyon delivered a masterclass performance in the second game to keep Oner at bay. T1 must figure out their issues; they may miss the Mid-season Invitational.
