Top 10 Shows on Paramount Plus This Week
Criminal Minds-Evolution
A stunning sequel to the original Criminal Minds series, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS, Criminal Minds Evolution has just kicked off its third season on Paramount Plus, and the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers is continuing to go up against their greatest threat yet.
The revived sequel follows the returning characters of David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (A.J Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), as they work against the clock to stop a network of serial killers that were brought together by an UnSub, Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) during the COVID-19 pandemic, and were released into the wild once the world reopened.
Whether you were a fan of the original Criminal Minds or not, Criminal Minds: Evolution and this pandemic-created network of serial killers take the Behavioral Analysis Unit on a deeper psychological journey. The characters are explored further, and more complex storylines are created, which can all be connected back to the themes of trauma, mental health, family responsibilities, self-care, and the aftermath of the pandemic. The standout performances of the cast, combined with deep character development and the freedom for more intense, darker tones throughout the episodes, will quickly have you asking yourself why you didn’t start watching this revival sooner!
Survivor
Since first airing in 2000, Survivor has continued to evolve into more than its original reality TV show description. With its blend of social dynamics, strategy, and the overall element of survival, it’s no surprise that Survivor remains at the top of most people’s must-watch list!
Watching contestants try to outwit each other, face the wilderness, and explore the various personalities of the contestants allows for this show to be more than another competition show. While the host, Jeff Probst, and the overall idea of the game have remained the same over the years, Survivor has continued to evolve through character-driven storylines, and of course, a high bar of intrigue and danger are a few reasons why this show is heading into its 49th season coming this fall!
So, whether you’re new to the show or an avid fan, season 48 and all the other previous seasons can be watched right now on Paramount Plus! Which one will you start with?
NCIS
Having been on TV since 2003 and already renewed for its 23rd season, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, NCIS, is one of CBS’s most popular long-running crime procedural shows. A show that began with lead Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and is now led by Alden Parker (Gary Cole), this team of special investigators focuses on crimes involving the U.S Navy and Marine Corps, combines elements of crime-solving, forensic science, military protocol, and of course, a wonderful blend of character-driven drama!
Over the years, NCIS has been responsible for many spinoffs, including being one itself. So, if you’re looking for a television show that has investigations, humor, and camaraderie and continues long past this core set of characters with spinoffs like NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Sydney, first, start where it all began back in 2003 when NCIS was created as a spinoff of the show JAG! There’s a reason why this show has outlasted so many others and continues to be ranked as one of the best shows to watch on Paramount Plus!
Special Ops: Lioness
Coming from creator Taylor Sheridan should be a good first step in understanding why this is a must-watch TV show! First premiering in 2023, Lioness is a spy thriller and drama that follows a female CIA operative, Joe, played by Zoe Saldana, who is part of a special forces unit that brings down terrorist organizations from the inside!
Over the two current seasons that can be binged on Paramount Plus, Saldana’s character recruits young women to go undercover as the Lioness operative who works to find their way in as a part of the terrorist organization, such as how Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), did so by forming a bind with the daughter of a suspected terrorist financier in the shows first season!
With a high-stakes cast of not only Zoe Saldana and Laysla de Oliveira but also Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly, and Morgan Freeman, this show takes realism combined with suspense, emotional drama, and morally complex characters to create some of the most psychologically burdening undercover work with a mix of female empowerment and ethics of espionage.
The second season of Lioness premiered on Paramount+ in October 2024, and as of today, all episodes are available to watch for both seasons while we await the news of when the show’s third season will hopefully be released! While no confirmation of a third season has been made, knowing the popularity of shows provided by creator Taylor Sheridan, the odds are in our favor, so catch up now!
Ghosts
Just when you might have started to think that the best Paramount Plus has to offer involves a lot of action and gunfire, Ghosts, with all its quirks, comes to remind you that it is not the case. Ghosts focuses on Samantha (Rose McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who ended up inheriting a country estate, which seems simple enough, right?Â
Well, this Manion, Woodstone Mansion, has many quirky hosts haunting and hanging around the property. How do the couple figure this out? Well, after a near-death experience, Samantha gains the ability to communicate and see these ghosts. The kicker? They all appear to be from different historical periods, which allows them to bring some incredibly heartfelt yet comedic characters to the show. For instance, you have the ghost of Isaac, described as a closeted Revolutionary War officer struggling with his identity. Then you also have Pete, an 80s scout leader, and Thorfinn, a Viking warrior with a heart of pure gold.
These unique and eccentric characters, combined with the exploration of themes like friendship and acceptance, and witty writing, make it no surprise that Ghosts quickly became one of Paramount Plus’s top-streamed comedies since its debut in 2021! If you’re looking for a heartfelt show with a wide range of characters and stories, Ghosts is for you. All four seasons are readily available to stream, with season five expected to premiere in the fall of this year!
SkyMed
SkyMed, a Canadian medical drama from creator Julie Puckrin, follows a team of young nurses and pilots who operate air ambulances in remote Northern Canada. This series does an excellent job of blending medical emergencies with themes of survival and community. Some notable cast members include delivery nurse Hayley Roberts, played by Natasha Calis, and Jay “Chopper” Chopra, played by Praneet Akilla.
SkyMed‘s popularity is said to come from the show’s high-stakes drama, diverse representation, and authenticity. The show’s creator, Puckrin, took her own life experiences from her sister and brother-in-law, who actually worked on air ambulances! This show also makes a point to dive into the personal lives of all its characters, which adds another element that keeps viewers constantly coming back for more!
The three seasons are available on Paramount Plus. The show’s third season drops on May 15th in the United States with all nine episodes, making it the perfect time for a good old-fashioned binge-watch!
Tracker
Tracker follows resourceful survivalist and expert tracker Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) through his adventures across the country. He assists law enforcement and local citizens with missing people, each for a reward. In each episode, Shaw is presented with a new case, usually in a different place, where he hops into his truck with his AirStream attached to help save the day. This action drama series does not just jump from case to case. It also dives into Colter’s family history, which, as the seasons progress, becomes increasingly complex, especially as it relates to his father’s mysterious death.
Colter Shaw might be a lone wolf at heart, but he can’t do it alone, as the show’s ensemble includes Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, and Fiona Rene. There are also many notable guest stars, from Sofia Pernas to Billie Matalon, who happens to be Justin Hartley’s real-life wife and plays a rival rewardist. Jensen Ackles plays Colter’s estranged older brother, Russell Shaw, and Melissa Roxburgh plays Dory Shaw, Colter’s sister. When both Ackles and Roxburgh show up, you know you’re about to get more insight into their families’ past secrets, and you’ll probably end up with more questions about it, too!
Seasons one and two of Tracker are available to stream on Paramount+. Season two is just wrapping up, and it’s already been renewed for an upcoming third season, so now is the time to sit down and dive into the world of missing persons and the complex Shaw family drama!
The Neighborhood
Since its debut in 2018, this sitcom has captivated audiences through its engaging storylines and social relevance, becoming one of the Top 10 Shows on Paramount Plus. Moreover, it has quite a unique blend of humor and heart! The cast is led by Cedric the Entertainer (Calvin Butler), Max Greenfield (Dave Jonson), Tichina Arnold (Tina Butler), and Beth Behrs (Gemma Johnson). Together, they portray interactions between a white Midwestern family and their Black neighbors in Pasadena, California. Not afraid to address real-world issues such as the Black Lives Matter movement, the show strongly emphasizes social justice, racial dynamics, and overall, community.
Since its debut, The Neighborhood has maintained a strong rating and currently ranks number one in comedies! The show has been renewed for its eighth and final season, coming during the 2025-2026 television season, and already has a spinoff series featuring Tracy Morgan as Calvin’s cousin in development! So, if you’re ready for a night of heartfelt laughs and a sense of community, The Neighborhood has it all for you!
FBI
Much of the success of creators Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, FBI comes from its incredibly talented cast, which includes Missy Peregrym as Special Agent Maggie Bell, Zeeko Zaki as Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, Jeremy Sisto as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, Alana De La Garza as Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castille, and John Boyd as Special Agent Stuart Scola. Together, this team of exceptional FBI agents dives into realistic federal investigations, showcasing daily operations, investigative techniques, and the use of technology to solve crimes.
The episodes from this procedural drama always focus on the highest stakes, whether they’re in terrorism, counterintelligence, or organized crime. While each episode has its own story, the show expands into its characters in a way that makes it close to impossible not to relate or feel a certain way about them. For example, throughout the show, we witness Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, played by Jeremy Sisto, go through the experience of an alcoholic and try to deal with his son’s illness while staying on the wagon, all while fighting to keep the world safe!
While I suggest starting from the very beginning to get a true sense of the show and its characters, the setup of FBI allows you to dive into any episode and understand the weekly story without a problem. FBI has remained at the top of the ratings, which ended up renewing it for its ninth season, extending its run until at least 2027! All seven seasons are available to stream on Paramount+, with season seven premiering in October 2024. There are still a couple of episodes left before the finale on Tuesday, May 20th, and then you’ll have seven whole seasons to catch up on before season eight begins!
Mobland
This 2025 British crime drama explores the Harrigan family, their conflicts with the rival Stevenson gang, and their internal dynamics! So, what makes this British crime drama so popular? Well, for one, the star-studded cast! The series includes Dame Helen Mirren, who plays the matriarch of the powerful Irish crime family, Maeve Harrigan, in London, along with her partner, Conrad Harrigan, played by the incomparable Pierce Brosnan. But that’s not all; this crime drama also follows the family’s trusted fixer, Harry Da Souza, played by none other than Tom Hardy!
First premiering on March 30th, 2025, Mobland releases new episodes on Sundays, where week by week, you’ll follow the Harrigan family as the violent feud between them and the Stevenson family ignites after a series of events involving the Stevenson heir and the Harrigan grandson, Eddie. This show is full of the dark action you’d expect from gangland rivalries, combined with ruthless, complex characters that offer a captivating experience that already has fans wishing the show would drop all the episodes at once because waiting each week simply feels like too much work!Â
So, whether you’re already a fan of intense crime dramas or just intrigued to see the work of Helen Mirren, Tom Hardy, and Pierce Brosnan in this criminal underworld format, Mobland is one of the must-watch Top 10 Shows on Paramount Plus this week!
