Top 10 Shows on Paramount Plus This Week!
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage might be a spinoff from Young Sheldon, but deep down, it’s much more than that. It follows Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they navigate young parenthood, marriage, and career challenges, all of which their not so sure they’re ready for!
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage offers a heartfelt exploration of young love and family with an excellent supporting cast of Dougie Baldwin, who plays Mandy’s younger brother Connor, Will Sasso playing Jim McAllister, Mandy’s father, and Rachel Bay Jones, who plays Mandy’s critical mother, Audrey.
Georgie, the eldest Cooper sibling, is still a little goofy but has grown into a husband and father who wants nothing more than to do right by his family. He’s extremely relatable, through his journey from being very impulsive to emotionally grounded. Mandy, a small-town girl trying to hang onto her dreams of a big future, while navigating the life of being Georgie’s wife and a new young mother, does an amazing job of showcasing the modern woman’s narrative of having it all.
Season one’s finale aired on May 15, 2025, and with season two confirmed, now is an excellent time to binge-watch the first season to understand why it gets a clear spot in this week’s top 10 shows on Paramount+!
S.W.A.T
Starring Shemar Moore as Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, this action-packed series, which also includes cast members Jay Harrington (Deacon Kay), Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russel (Jim Street), Lina Esco (Chris Alonso), Kenny Johnson (Dominque Luca), David Lim (Victor Tan), and Patrick St. Esprit (Commander Robert Hicks), follows the elite LAPD SWAT team as they tackle high-stakes situations across Los Angeles.
It’s not all just action, though, as S.W.A.T. does an expert job of blending the action sequences with its strong character-driven storytelling. With the powerful themes of representation, integrity, and emotional leadership, this dynamic ensemble of brotherhood and family is what S.W.A.T. is truly all about. They trust each other with their lives and go through the highs and lows of life together, and sometimes do so in the most stressful of situations.
S.W.A.T. delivers incredible action combined with team dynamics and moral dilemmas faced by law enforcement, and since they’ve concluded their eighth and final season this month, what better time than to jump in and take a ride with the team?
The Equalizer
Playing a former CIA Operative, Queen Latifah brilliantly stars as Robyn McCall in The Equalizer, working to balance her covert missions, not as a CIA operative anymore, but a vigilante justice seeker, along with the events in her personal life.
With the core theme of social justice, this action-packed The Equalizer unravels McCall’s’ choice to use her skills as an ex-CIA Operative, along with most trusted friends, and married couple, hacker Harry Keshegian (Adam Goldberg) and Ex-Air Force Sniper, Mel Bayani (Liza Lapira), to help people who have nowhere else to turn, and she does this while also raising her teenage daughter, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), who faces her own ups and down throughout the series such as learning the truth about what her mom does, stepping into activism, and her own independence.
Additionally, throughout the series, Tory Kittle plays Detective Marcus Dante, who goes from vigilante skeptic to trusted ally. Kittle’s character works as a moral compass in a very corrupt system, and even while working with McCall, he’s quick to remind her of any legal or ethical lines she might be crossing, even for the sake of helping others. Eventually, the two become each other’s secret weapons to help people, and because of their incredible chemistry, you’ll find the romantic tension between the two hard to deny!
Then, of course, there’s McCall’s Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint), who serves as the emotional and moral backbone of the show. She works to help McCall raise Delilah, acts as their support system, providing a stable environment, as well as a mental health and art advocate, and incredible words of wisdom she’ll happily offer whether you realize you need it or not!
Each character has their dedication to justice, skill sets, and emotionally charged backstories that add a richness to the series that makes it go far beyond just another action TV show. With the show’s fifth and final season wrapped up this month, this is one of the top 10 shows on Paramount+ that I highly recommend you jump into right away!
Everybody Loves Raymond
Everybody Loves Raymond is a classic sitcom that centers around sportswriter Ray Barone (Ray Romano) and his interactions with his eccentric, sometimes overbearing family. Mostly known and loved for its relatable humor and family dynamics, this series remains a staple for comedy lovers long since its debut in 1996, all the way through its end in 2005. What makes the show what it was and what it still is is the incredible characters, their interactions, and the actions that play them.
Ray Barone gives off an everyman kind of appeal to viewers, as many of his life reactions and situations are extremely relatable. Debra Barone, played by Patricia Heaton, is Ray’s wife, who is smart and absolutely exhausted. Heaton plays the underappreciated wife almost too well sometimes, as I often find myself yelling at Ray through the TV! The incomparable Doris Roberts plays Ray’s mother, Marie Barone, in a way I can’t quite find words for. Her passive-aggressive meddling drives many moments on the show and gives the show, what I understand to be, classic mother-in-law humor…and frustration!
With Ray’s father Frank, Peter Boyle, adds some incredible sharp humor with his outdated worldviews and iconic delivery. Brad Garrett plays Ray’s older brother, Robert, a police officer who feels completely overshadowed by Ray but adds some serious emotional depth to the show with his awkward life moments, such as in his romantic life, and his dry humor is nothing short of hilarious.
Even though it premiered in the 90s, that has not stopped Everybody Loves Raymond from being one of the most relatable and consistently funny series on television. With the brilliant cast chemistry, timeless family dynamics, and Emmy-winning legacy, it serves as comfort tv at its absolute finest!
Blue Bloods
One of CBS’s highest-rated series, Blue Bloods follows a multi-generational family of New York City law enforcement officers with Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) at the forefront, while they tackle crime and justice.
Throughout its 14 seasons, Blue Bloods dives deep into the personal and professional challenges faced by the Reagan Family. Tom Selleck’s character, Frank Reagan, represents the moral compass of not just the department but also his family. Donnie Wahlberg, as Frank’s oldest son, Danny, is a hothead who is extremely loyal and uses his street smarts to approach situations that end up clashing with protocol, but also adds some great tension and depth to the plot.
Frank’s daughter, and Assistant District Attorney, Erin, played by Bridget Moynahan, brings a legal presence to the show, bridging law enforcement and the court system as well as bringing in some family friction to their iconic Sunday family dinners. Will Estes plays Jamie Reagan, the youngest son, and a uniformed police officer, who is eventually promoted and brings a fresh lens through his journey from Harvard Law to beat cop. Then, of course, there is Henry Reagan, played by Len Cariou, who is Frank’s father and a retired NYPD Commissioner who adds a healthy dose of historical perspective and family wisdom.
What sets Blue Bloods apart from all the other action crime-solving dramas is the Reagan family dynamic. Through their Sunday dinners and conversations of morality, duty, sacrifice, and thought-provoking moral themes across all the seasons, this series makes the ideal binge-watch for lovers of crime and family drama!
1923
As a prequel to the Taylor Sheridan hit Yellowstone, 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, explores the Dutton family’s struggles during Prohibition and the Great Depression. With strong core themes of resilience and legacy, 1923 is a historical drama that also explores survival, justice, and generational legacy with strong moments of introspection.
What makes 1923 stand out is the award-winning cast that was put together. We have Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren finally on screen together as Jacob and Cara Dutton. Jacob Dutton is a stoic leader who is doing everything he can to keep his family’s land and values together, while Cara, the emotional core of the family and strategic mind, remains fiercely loyal and a formidable opponent for anyone thinking of coming for the family.
Jacob’s nephew Spencer, played by Brandon Sklenar, brings the themes of redemption and trauma as he works his way back to his family after globe-trotting abroad in Africa. Julia Schlaepfer plays Alexandra, a British aristocrat who falls in love with Spencer and brings her modern spirit into the series, giving it a refreshing feeling, along with the compelling arc of her romance with Spencer, giving moments of light in the show’s darker themes. Then you have the show’s primary antagonist, Banner Creighton, played by Jerome Flynn, who is a Scottish sheep herder and represents the brutal socioeconomic conflicts of the period.
1923, is a gritty, western that goes far beyond the frontier and uses its stunning visuals to tell the untold stories of American histories that, while tied to the Yellowstone universe, can also stand completely on its own, which means you can binge-watch all eight episodes over the weekend without worrying about needing more backstory to understand the events that are unfolding!
Henry Danger
This week, the series Henry Danger is coming back into the spotlight with a younger audience. In this series, Henry Hart (Jace Norman) becomes Kid Danger, a sidekick to superhero Captain Man/Ray Manchester (Cooper Barnes), and follows Hart as he tries to balance school life and crime-fighting with an excellent balance of humor and adventure!
It’s not just Kid Danger and Captain Man, though; the show has an incredible supporting cast, such as Charlotte Page, played by Riele Downs, Henry’s best friend, who is brilliant, tech-savvy, and vital to keeping the boys in check. Henry’s goofy best friend, Jasper Dunlop (Sean Ryan Fox), provides an incredible dose of humor, and his enthusiastic loyalty adds another important layer to the team. Finally, you have Henry’s younger sister, Piper, played by Ella Anderson, whose outrage and unexpected involvement in missions keep things unpredictable and funny for fans.
Through the show’s loyalty, problem-solving, teamwork, and always standing up for what is right, this show is a mix of humor and action that nails what you’d expect to be the formula for a superhero TV show! With 5 seasons and over 100 episodes among them, Henry Danger is the perfect option for clean humor and high-energy action viewing, which helps it earn its spot in this week’s top 10 shows on Paramount Plus!
FBI: International
This procedural drama from the genius mind of Dick Wolf, follows the FBI’s elite “Fly Team” as they tackle threats against American interests abroad. Set mostly in Europe, FBI: International combines international intrigue with high-stakes investigations. Throughout its seasons, FBI: International has an extremely strong cast such as Luke Kleintank, who plays Scott Forrester, the Supervisory Special Agent and leader of the Fly Team for the majority of the series until heading off on a personal adventure and the show brings in Jesse Lee Soffer as Wesley “Wes” Mitchell bringing a fresh dynamic to the series with a more assertive and unconventional approach compared to Forrester.
The show rounds out with the other excellent supporting characters of Jamie Kellett (Heida Reed), who brings intelligence and emotional intuition to the team, and whose chemistry with Forrester goes beyond the incident room. Agents Andre Rains (Carter Redwood) and Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) round out the field agent group, each with their own critically important backgrounds and skills to help track suspects, decode complex cases.
The Fly Team is tasked with many high-stakes assignments from cybercrimes, terrorism, human trafficking, and espionage, and does an excellent job of showcasing and navigating the complex political terrain they have to work with. FBI: International, has mostly stand alone cases, meaning you don’t need to start from the beginning, however, I’d suggest that you did!
Landman
Landman, starring Billy Bob Thornton and created by Taylor Sheridan, digs into the world of oil drilling in Texas and explores the complexities of the energy industry and its impacts on communities. Known for his iconic storytelling, Taylor Sheridan’s Landman doesn’t shy away from addressing various themes of environmental concerns, economic disparities, and the ethical dilemmas within and around the energy sector.
The cast and characters of this series are like no other, as it not only stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, the crisis executive at M-Tex Oil, but Jonn Hamm plays the role of Monty Miller, the owner of M-Tex Oil, and Demi Moore comes in as Cami Miller, Monty’s wife, whose character adds depth to the story that allows for the intertwining of personal relationships and corporate drama.
Other important characters include Ali Larter, who plays Tommy’s ex-wife, and mother to their children, Angela Norris, and helps us to see the struggles and sacrifices that Tommy has made for the sake of his career. Those children, Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), provide insight into the industry’s impact on the younger generations, like Cooper, who has a ground-level view of the oil fields, and how to navigate family dynamics within such a demanding industry.
Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone, a causation lawyer, Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg, and Paulina Chavez, who plays Ariana Medina, the wife of Elvio Medina, an oil crewman, and gets mixed up with Cooper Norris eventually, are also impactful characters throughout the show.
Landman offers a raw and unfiltered look at the deep complexities of the oil industry and energy sector, combined with power, ambition, and family. Since its first season was so successful, it was quickly renewed for season two, making right now a great time to dive into the depths of another Taylor Sheridan classic!
Poppa’s House
Featuring Damon Wayans Sr. (Poppa Fulton) and Damon Wayans Jr (Damon “Junior” Fulton), as a father-son duo, Poppa’s House navigates their relationship and generational differences while blending humor and heart, creating a fresh take on family dynamics. This CBS sitcom premiered in October 2024 to April 2025 for its first season and brought together the talents of the Wayans family with a blend of classic and contemporary humor.
While having a humor-filled show with two important figures at the forefront is important, what is equally important is the strong ensemble cast that was put together to join them on the journey. For instance, Essence Atkins plays Dr. Ivy Reed, Poppa’s new co-host, and best-selling author and podcast host, who brings a fresh perspective to Poppa’s traditional views.
Then we have Junior’s wife, Nina Fulton, played by Tetona Jackson, who balances her aspirations with the needs of her husband and children, while Wendy Raquel Robinson plays Catherine Fulton, Poppa’s ex-wife and Junior’s mother who adds her own level of humor and complexity to the show as they navigate more modern family relationships. You’ll also find Marlon Wayans making guest-star appearances, adding another layer of excitement to the show.
While the show unfortunately did not get picked up for a second season, suggested to be because of CBS’s competitive half-hour comedy time slot, that does not mean the show is not worth a binge-watch! With 18 episodes, incredible characters, and relatable themes, Poppa’s House delivers plenty of laughs and heart, and is well worth your time and a place on this week’s top 10 shows on Paramount Plus!
