Top 10 Shows on Paramount+ This Week!
Fire Country
Fire Country delivers a gripping narrative about redemption and resilience. Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), a former inmate, seeks redemption by joining Cal Fire’s inmate firefighting program. Unknowingly, though, this means returning to his hometown of Edgewater, California, where he’s forced to confront past demons while battling wildfire, and of course, navigating complex relationships.
The show’s portrayal of firefighting is done brilliantly by Thieriot and the rest of the cast, which includes Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela Perez), Jordan Calloway (Jake Crawford), Diane Farr (Sharon Leone), and Billy Burke (Vince Leone). It adds a special kind of authenticity and urgency to any storyline in the series. What makes Fire Country stand out goes beyond the high-stakes firefighting action, and instead dives deep into its emotionally charged drama and focuses on community and the power of resilience.
Watson
Created by Craig Sweeny and set six months after Sherlock Holmes’ death, Watson reimagines Dr. John Watson (Morris Chestnut) as the head of the Holmes Clinic in Pittsburgh, specializing in rare disorders. But even going back to his medical roots, he can’t escape his past. This is not just another case-of-the-week structured show, though; it is far more layered with psychological drama as we get a deeper look into Watson’s past, including his guilt, as each episode goes on.
Chesnut’s performance as Watson adds incredible emotional weight to a man trying to honor his past while also moving on from it, but he doesn’t do it alone. With excellent support from fellow actors such as Eve Harlow (Dr. Ingrid Derian), Rochelle Aytes (Mary Morstan-Watson), Peter Mark Kendall (Dr. Adam and Dr. Stephens Croft), and Rachel Hayward (Detective Lestrade), to name a few, this series is a fresh take on a classic world.
The series does an excellent job of being able to blend mystery with a medical drama while exploring themes of grief and identity, as well as the ongoing mythology of Sherlock and whether or not he is really dead. Its unique characters and intriguing plot twists make Watson quite the compelling watch for fans, whether they are fans of the original stories or complete newcomers.

It’s a mix of light procedural storytelling, the standout performances from the cast, and the central character who is often described as being as loveable as she is brilliant, this series is refreshing and addictive, especially considering how, as you go through each episode, the story’s overarching mystery deepens further and further.
