Amazon Prime Video is flexing its muscles as a streaming platform, delivering hit after hit in its TV series lineup! From the action-packed Reacher to the post-apocalyptic Fallout to the romantic summer nostalgia of The Summer I Turned Pretty, these shows are dominating everyone’s watch lists for a reason! So, if you’re wondering what to sink your teeth into next, we’ve compiled the top 10 shows on Amazon Prime Video this week that viewers cannot get enough of! Let’s dive in!
Top 10 Shows on Amazon Prime Video This Week
Reacher
Based on Lee Child’s novels and starring Alan Ritchson, Reacher combines an incredible detective narrative with intense action! Each season focuses on one book, allowing watchers to jump into either season and enjoy the action that unfolds. However, I find it important to start at the beginning to get a real sense of the Reacher character and how it grows and evolves throughout each season!
So, who is Jack Reacher? Well, Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, is a former military police officer, now more like a drifter who travels with only his strong moral code, incredible physical strength, sharp mind, and toothbrush. Much to the surprise and excitement of fans of the books, Ritchson and his 6’3, muscular frame fit the character’s description in the books, which is more than satisfying for fans of the novels, something that doesn’t happen as often as fans wish it did.
Reacher is a TV show that combines brutal fight scenes and realistic action without going over the top, and allows his clear moral compass to shine through any of his physical strength. With an excellent supporting cast each season, including Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe Conklin in season one, Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck in season two, and Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who comes along for the ride in both seasons, it’s genuinely no surprise that Reacher has remained one of Amazon Prime Video’s most consistently popular tv series that has something exciting for all audiences, whether their younger or older, a fan of the books or never read them.
So what are you waiting for? Get ready to strap in and binge this Amazon Prime favorite while we await the highly anticipated and already-in-production season three!
Fallout
Based on the iconic video game series, Fallout has become a massive hit with fans who were already fans of the video game and even those who probably didn’t even know where it came from! Fallout sets itself apart from the typical dystopian genre with a mix of dark humor, a unique tone, and compelling characters.
Set in the year 2296, centuries after a nuclear apocalypse, this series explores the aftermath of corporate greed, specifically the role of Vault-Tec, the company responsible for putting together the underground bunkers. Ella Purnell plays Lucy MacLean, a Vault Dweller from Vault 33 who ventures into the wasteland to find her missing father, who is played by Kyle MacLachlan, which is what truly sets the story into motion. The cast also includes the iconic Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul/Copper Howard, who offers quite an interesting perspective on this post-apocalyptic world, and Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus, a squire who struggles with his past.
Through the show’s compelling character arcs, being a faithful adaptation to the essence of the Fallout video games, and the incredible acting performances, it’s easy to understand how it attracted over 60 million viewers in only 16 days after the season one debut! While nothing is set in stone yet, season two is expected to premiere in December of this year, and there is already talk of a third season, so now is the perfect time to get caught up on season one and be ready to dive back into this post-apocalyptic world when the show returns this winter!
The Wheel of Time
A TV show based on Robert Jordan’s 14 incredible novels, The Wheel of Time, captivates its audience from the very start. Full of diverse characters and worlds, the plot and expansive universe are only two small pieces of what makes this show so popular. The Wheel of Time expertly combines the genres of fantasy, action-adventure, and political dramas with rich world-building, cultural depth, moral ambiguity, and complex characters. Oh, and this series’s strong female representation is front and center!
The series has an incredible cast, with Rosamund Pike front and center as Moiraine Damodred, an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, on the ultimate quest to find the Dragon Reborn. Alongside Pike, you’ll see the likes of Daniel Henney, Josha Stradowski, Zoe Robins, and Madeleine Madden helping to bring Jordan’s complex characters to life.
These complex characters are unlike your traditional fantasy characters in that they are portrayed much more deeply, including the villains. They explore various themes, from disillusionment and love to go far beyond any typical good versus evil story. This is one of the many reasons why, upon its debut in 2021, it quickly became Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched series and continues to be in high demand among viewers, both newcomers and longtime fans. Season three dropped on Prime Video in March of 2025, with seasons one and two already available to binge-watch while we await the much-anticipated news of a hopeful season four renewal!
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
With its stunning visuals, this series quickly attracts longtime fans and newcomers. So quickly, in fact, that during its debut in 2022, The Rings of Power attracted over 25 million global viewers in just 24 hours! Set in Middle-earth’s Second Age, it explores the forging of the Rings and the rise of Sauron.
The expansive world-building, as it dives deep into Middle-earth’s lore, stunning visuals, and diverse cultures, is just a few of the many reasons why fans from all over cannot get enough of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings-inspired series. Another reason? The show has diverse and inclusive casting. From Cynthia Addai-Robins, who plays Queen Regent Miriel, to Morfydd Clark as the young, warrior version of the elven leader, Galadriel, and Robert Aramayo, playing Elrond, an ambitious elven statesman trying to navigate political alliances, The Rings of Power takes the role of an epic fantasy adventure television show and elevates it much to the appeal of newcomers and loyal viewers.
Both seasons one and two of this incredible series are available on Amazon Prime Video, and even with no concrete call for a season three, fans and cast alike are more than determined to make it happen so they can continue to bring Middle-earth to life. The Rings of Power is a must-watch for anyone craving a good old epic fantasy series full of heart and ambition!
The Bondsman
Kicking off with an intriguing premise and strong cast performances, The Bondsman, starring Kevin Bacon as Hub Halloran, a grizzled bounty hunter resurrected to recapture escaped demons, is considered Amazon Prime Video’s standout series for 2025! From Creator Grainger David and Showrunner Erik Oleson comes a supernatural horror comedy with a side of family drama set in the small Southern town of Landry. As Bacon’s character Halloran fights to return escaped demons to hell, each episode blends your typical horror series with dark humor and themes of redemption and second chances!
Alongside Kevin Bacon is Jennifer Nettles, who plays Maryanne, Hub’s ex-wife and former country music partner, and Damon Herriman, who plays Lucky Callahan, Maryanne’s new partner and an important figure throughout the series in terms of Hub’s demise. The Bondsman takes your typical supernatural, demon-hunting narrative and sets it to an eleven, which keeps the genre fresh and engaging.
First released in April of 2025, the series dropped all eight episodes at once, which means no waiting week after week for more intense action. This also means there’s no excuse to jump right in and see what Hell’s front company, Pot of Gold, and this undead bounty hunter are all about!
The Summer I Turned Pretty
The incredible coming-of-age romance from Jenny Han’s best-selling trilogy has pulled on viewers’ heartstrings, especially those in the younger audience. The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin, who Lola Tung plays, as she figures out how to navigate love, adolescence, and her personal growth one summer while at Cousins Beach. What is more intriguing than that? Throwing in a summertime love triangle between Conklin and the Fisher Brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah, played by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno, respectively.
This show has so much to offer its viewers that when you get down to it, it’s no surprise it’s still revving with popularity. From family dynamics, first love, heartbreak, identity, and the emotionally charged love triangle, how does one not get drawn into that? On top of that, Belly is a very complex character and highly relatable through all her imperfections. Along with the strong female protagonist at the center of the story, the series’s diverse representation and multigenerational storylines create their own appeal to viewers, adding deeper issues such as grief, illness, and sexuality.
While seasons one and two are available for a weekend to binge-watch at any time, season three is set to launch in July 2025, and this will be the final season, which goes along with having only three books to base the series on. So, kick off your summer with the first two seasons before getting ready for 11 more episodes, the longest of the three, in just a few months!
Bosch Legacy
This spin-off which continues the popular Bosch series, follows the original detective, now a private investigator, as he works to navigate new challenges through its incredible storytelling and complex characters. Harry Bosch, played by Titus Welliver, his attorney Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers), and daughter Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz), now an LAPD rookie officer herself, come together to explore complex cases from wildly different perspectives. Bosch’s new role as a private investigator allows for a deeper look into his character and his interactions with others, such as Maddie and Honey.
This spin-off allows for a deeper look into Harry Bosch’s character and more emotionally charged story arcs, including Maddie’s kidnapping! Fans have come to follow Bosch’s story from the original as the show has been able to introduce new elements while still being the show the fans originally came to love.
Running on Amazon Prime since 2022 and releasing its third and final season in March of 2025, Bosch Legacy has a combined 30 episodes just waiting to be explored. With its impactful characters and emotional depth, this crime drama has kept its popularity strong and will continue to have a long-lasting legacy, such as through its next upcoming spin-off, which will feature Maggie Q as Detective Renee Ballard, where Harry Bosch is expected to make multiple appearances!
Etoile
A unique addition to the platform, Etoile is a ballet drama that dives into the world of competitive dance with an interesting take on ambition. It uses compelling narratives that have quickly gathered attention from Amazon Prime viewers. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino—the duo behind Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel—this comedy-drama set in NYC and Paris combines authentic ballet representation with artistic exploration. The two ballet companies decide to swap their dancers and choreographers to rejuvenate the art form.
The main cast consists of Luke Kirby, who plays Jack McMillan, the director of the Metropolitan Ballet; Charlotte Gainsbourg as Genevieve Lavigne, the interim director of the Paris Opera Ballet; and the fiery Parisian ballerina star who hates change, played by Lou De Laage. With this cast and the sharp storylines woven throughout the series, it doesn’t matter if you’re all into the world of ballet or just deciding to dip your toe into it; you’ll find yourself engaged with every move.
You’ll find all eight episodes of the first season waiting for you on Prime Video, and a second season is already promised to debut in 2026; there is no better time to jump into this truly mesmerizing drama.
Invincible
This animated superhero series, Invincible, is not your typical animated series, as it does not shy away from mature themes, which is just one reason it’s become so popular among watchers. Constantly praised for its storytelling, development, and action, this adult animated series created by Robert Kirkman, based on his comic book series, follows Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), who inherits superpowers from his father, Omni-Man (voiced by J.K. Simmons), who just so happens to be the planet’s most powerful superhero! Throughout the series, you’ll follow Mark Grayson as he tries to deal with the complexities of being a superhero and the family drama uncovered along the way.
Other notable voices you’ll catch in the series include Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson, Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman, the head of the Global Defense Agency, and Mark Hamill, who lends his voice as Invincible’s costume designer. Plus, don’t miss those lending their voices in recurring guest roles, such as Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien and Mahershala Ali as Titan!
Invincible brings a different kind of intensity through the action in the scenes. It uses violence to help the audience understand the high stakes in the episodes and the overall emotional weight of the narrative. These two aspects of the series help it stand out among the superhero genre and have made it such a success since dropping its first season in 2021. With three seasons already out and waiting, season four of Invincible is expected to be released in 2026 with an even more in-depth look into the various arcs throughout the comics and Mark’s continued evolution. If you haven’t already, now is the time to jump into this epic animated series because it will only get better!
Homefront
Resonating with viewers through its timely themes and emotional depth, Homefront is a gripping portrayal of the often-overlooked challenges of military families. Strong themes of turmoil, resilience, and strength are shown throughout this British drama series, which initially aired in 2012. While only six episodes, the series dives into the lives of four army wives living in the UK and what they go through psychologically when their husbands are deployed in Afghanistan.
The cast for Homefront consists of Antonia Thomas, who plays Tasha Raveley, a young woman who struggles to cope with losing her husband in combat while also trying to raise their son. Claire Marshbrook, played by Claire Skinner, is a mother working hard to maintain stability in her family when military life can be anything but. The show also follows Nicola Stephenson, who plays Louise Mancetta, who faces personal dilemmas on top of the strain she feels in her husband’s absence, as well as Clare Higgins, who plays Paula Raveley, Tasha’s mother-in-law, who provides a whole different perspective on grief and coping in military life.
The show’s ability to captivate its audience with its character-driven storylines allows viewers to quickly and deeply connect with the characters’ journeys, even if they don’t necessarily have a specific experience of military life. Despite its original release in 2012, Homefront has become so popular this year through its rediscovery on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, the cultural relevance of the story, and Antonia Thomas’s growing fame since her role in The Good Doctor! This show is a true example of how a show can be revitalized thanks to streaming platforms and social media, and it should undoubtedly be on your must-watch list this week!
