Exciting News: Tony Awards Nominations 2025 Are Out!

In truly exciting news, the Tony Awards Nominations for 2025 are out! Announced today (1st May 2025) by Tony Award winners Sarah Poulson and Wendell Pierce, there are nominations this year, across 26 compelling categories. The nominees have been chosen by a panel of 54 independent theatre professionals, and the 2025 Tony Awards will be presented by The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing.

The Tony Awards are scheduled to broadcast live across America on Sunday, 8th June 2025, 8:00 to 11:00 pm ET and 5:00 to 8:00 pm PT on the CBS Television Network or streamed on Paramount+ in the US. The event will be hosted by Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner Cynthia Erivo and will return once again to the majestic Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The Tony Awards Nominations

Any legitimate theatrical production opening in any of the 41 eligible Broadway theatres during the current season may be up for Tony Awards Nominations. The season for consideration began on 26th April 2024 and ended on 27th April 2025. The lucky winners of the awards will be decided by 840 Tony voters within the theatre community.

During the event, special, non-competitive Tony Awards are cited to be presented to the musicians of Buena Vista Social Club and The Illusions & Technical Effects of Stranger Things: The First Shadow. There is also a 2025 Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and this will be presented to the following:

Alongside these prestigious honors, the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award is set to be given to Celia Keenan Bolger, and the Special Tony Award for a Lifetime Achievement in Theatre will go to Harvey Fierstein.
