The Odyssey is an ancient story, but there’s nothing ancient about Christopher Nolan’s movie. The trailer has debuted in theaters, and now Tom Holland has opened up in an interview with GQ. An adventure is coming!
The Odyssey & Tom Holland
“It was amazing. The job of a lifetime, without a doubt. The best experience I’ve had on the film set. Incredible. It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
Tom Holland spoke with Yang-Yi Goh for GQ and shared what it was like working on the epic movie with Christopher Nolan and the all-star cast of The Odyssey.
“Working with Chris, getting to know him and Emma [Thomas] was absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen someone that can work the way that they do, and there is a reason why they’re the best in the business for sure. To get a front row seat to that and to be a part of the process and to collaborate with a true master of his craft and learn from him was the best experience I’ve ever had.”
“Matt Damon has always been a hero of mine, Anne Hathaway has always been a hero of mine. So to share scenes with them, to learn from them, to become friends with them, I couldn’t have asked for a better job. And I’m so proud of the work I’ve done. I came to work every day with a real sense of purpose and a point to prove, and I’m so grateful for Chris to have given me that opportunity.”
The Incredible Cast
Tom Holland is Telemachus, son of Odysseus and Penelope, played by Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway. They aren’t the only famous faces who will appear in Homer’s epic, The Odyssey, on the big screen. Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, and Lupita Nyong’o are also members of the star-studded cast.
The Odyssey release date is July 17, 2026. To see the teaser, you’ll have to head to the theater for films like Jurassic World Rebirth or Superman. But, hey, seeing a summer blockbuster plus a breakout trailer isn’t a bad way to spend an afternoon in the air conditioning!
