Tom Hardy Rips Out Blood in Ultraviolent ‘Havoc’ Trailer

Tom Hardy

Havoc is Tom Hardy’s upcoming brain-bashing and blood-soaked bad-guy thriller film coming to Netflix. This action-packed villain beatdown is directed by Gareth Evans and stars Hardy, Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker. Lucky for us Tom has a solid reputation for taking out street scum with his bear hands. Havoc takes Walker, who is played by Tom, through the city’s underbelly when a drug deal goes bad with a politician’s son. He’s a detective whose role as Walker seems to be made for Tom. He is a man who has been pushed too far and faces overwhelming odds as things keep going horribly wrong for him.

Tom Hardy’s Next knucklebuster is Havoc

It seems that Walker has to deal with an unforgiving crime syndicate, corrupt politicians, and even shady colleagues. Things get even worse for him as Walker has to rescue the politician’s son, who was the key player in the drug deal that went wrong. He has to fight through a deepening web of conspiracy, corruption, and exposure. If you add a little deadly stare from Timothy Olyphant, a tight smile from Narges Rashidi, and the powerful presence of Luis Guzman, you get more than most other movies.

Hardy isn’t alone, with some of the best co-stars we could ask for. Walker seems to be fighting the entire city’s good and bad, hunting for Justin Cornwell, who plays the alienated son of a politician, played by Whitaker. In the trailer, the cast gives a deep meaning to the film, making it more than a bloody knuckle movie. Don’t worry, though; Hardy adds the skills of a rough street cop, egger assassin against the city’s dirtiest characters where he’s the city’s washing machine.

Havoc’s Trailer

Havoc’s trailer shows Whitaker threatening Hardy that he can be destroyed with a single phone call. This gives Walker a complex past and shady morals. He must constantly be looking over his shoulder and living for redemption. Whatever horrible past action that plagues him forces him to risk his life to hide, throwing the entire city into one big fight club.

Hardy plays a part fit for him like a glove to hand with tension on the screen with an intensity that’s palpable. He has already played similar roles that we have fallen in love with, as the pilot in Dunkirk, the head of the underworld in Peaky Blinders, and not forgetting the MRI-hating parasite infected Eddie Brock in Venom. He has also partnered up with Netflix in the recent release of MobLand, which has recently been released on Paramount Plus.

The Next John Wick?

Havoc has already been dubbed the next John Wick, as it shares many of the same qualities. The John Wick series has run for four movies, with a fifth on the way. It already has a spin-off in Ballerina starring Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, who also faces off against the dog-loving Keanu Reeves, who plays John Wick. Both Havoc and John Wick movies share similar high-octane fighting, tense relationships, and dialogue, each with a hardened morality protagonist who is forced to do the devil’s work against overwhelming odds.

Ask yourself if you like Reeves as Wick, and if you want to see Tom Hardy survive the brutal underworld, then you have to see Havoc. One has to wonder if Hardy can be the next undying Wick for us, being pushed beyond his limits. The answer comes on April 25 this year when Havoc releases. That’s when we learn what it will take to see Walker lay down his life for, and some of the best fight scenes of the year.
