The Rookie Season 8 Latest Update Leaves Fans Disappointed

The Rookie Season 8

The Rookie Season 8 won’t be arriving as soon as many had hoped. The wait will be difficult for fans of Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan and his friends on the police force. Especially after that Season 7 finale!

The Rookie Season 8

The Rookie Season 8 will be a part of the midseason schedule for ABC again. This means we’ll be waiting until January 2026 for the new episodes. It will also be staying on Tuesday nights on ABC, which means a Wednesday release on Hulu. At least we’ll be able to keep our routines intact!

They’re keeping The Rookie in the midseason because it did well for ABC in that position. That’s good news for fans because it means the show is doing well and we’ll continue to see our favorite fictional cops on the screen.

The Season 7 finale just aired on May 13 and is available on Hulu now. It was a doozy! We had the return of Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave), the criminal who recently escaped prison. And there was a big surprise return at the very end of the episode. We won’t spoil it for you here. But it’s a good one. Here’s to hoping we see the full cast return for the next season.

The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, the original rookie now turned training officer. Jenna Dewan is Bailey Nune, John’s wife and paramedic, who is a pretty bad a** lady. Other strong ladies include Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox), Angela Lopez (Alyssa Diaz), and Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neill). And the guys, Tim Bradford (Eric Winter), Wade Grey (Richard T. Jones), Wesley Evers (Shawn Ashmore), and Miles Penn (Deric Augustine).
