The competition intensifies on The Masked Singer as the remaining contestants take center stage. Also known as The Lucky Six, these mystery performers are Season 13’s best. They’ve fought hard to make it this far, and they got to do it again. Instead of clue packages this week, the singers presented Spoiler Alerts and Colossal Clues. The judges also participated in rapid-fire one-on-one questioning to gather more hints on their identities. But did it help them correctly guess the celebrity contestant who left this week?
The Masked Singer’s Lucky Six Performances
Opening this Masked Singer event was Mad Scientist Monster with another country rendition. The googly-eyed and lab coat-wearing gremlin performed a famous hit from Shawn Mendes. Before singing, he revealed he’s not Keith Urban and possesses a connection to Tennessee. The kilt-wearing cryptid, Nessy, entertained the crowd next with Myle Smith’s “Stargazing.” His Spoiler Alert and Colossal Clue proved he’s not Pat Monahan and is on tour. Judge Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg discovered he has kids, loves TikTok, and created a famous love song.
Coral returned to the Masked Singer stage with a rendition of Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun.” Before performing, she confessed to having a connection to Demi Lovato and Disney. And her rapid-fire Q&A with Rita Ora hints they both worked on the same franchise. Fellow Group A finalist Paparazzo follows with TLC’s “Unpretty,” which he reveals is a clue. His Colossal Clue involved famous Boy Meets World actress Danielle Fishel. We also discovered that Pararazzo starred on TV shows thanks to Robin Thicke’s questioning.
Group B’s Pearl with “Conga” from Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine was next. The gem-studded singer revealed that her famous identity isn’t Shania Twain. Her one-on-one Q&A with Ken Jeong also uncovered that Pearl possibly holds a platinum record. Boogie Woogie took the final performance during this crucial Masked Singer episode. He wowed the audience and judges with a powerful rendition of X Ambassadors’ “Unsteady.” His hints involved his kids and the Statue of Liberty with a guitar.
And Then There Were Five
Every member of the Lucky Six gave a fantastic performance that moved everyone. Sadly, one of these talented individuals had to leave the Masked Singer stage. Every audience member and judge cast their vote, and Paparazzo was the unlucky contestant. Before the unmasking, the camera-headed crooner revealed he has a personal reptile zoo. Frankie Muniz, Jason Ritter, Matthew Lawrence, and Ben Savage were the final guesses. Everyone watched with anxiety and excitement as Paprazzo’s mask came off to reveal . . . Matthew Lawrence!
Lawrence achieved fame for his role in Boy Meets World, which explains Fishel’s surprise appearance. He returned to reprise his part in the 2014 sequel series, Girl Meets World. This renowned heartthrob also starred in one of Robin Williams’ iconic movies. As for his song choice, Lawrence is dating Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas from TLC. He admitted to being self-conscious about his singing, so doing The Masked Singer was ideal. Now that people enjoyed his Paparazzo performances, maybe we’ll see him sing more.
The Golden Ear Competition Continues
Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg correctly deduced that Paparazzo’s identity was Matthew Lawrence! This guess brings her Golden Ear score to four and puts her in the lead. Trailing behind her is Robin Thicke with three correct guesses and Rita Ora at two. Ken Jeong only has one, thus putting him in last place. McCarthy-Wahlberg previously won the Golden Ear twice, and it looks like she’s getting a third. But that can change if another judge correctly assumes the remaining singer’s identities before her.
Final Thoughts
The performances from the Lucky Six in this new Masked Singer episode were spectacular! I especially loved Mad Scientist Monster’s act since he performed a favorite song of mine. My toes were tapping as I heard him sing and watched him dance. The temptation to also get up and dance during the following rewatches almost took over. With only five singers left, the competition will now be more challenging. I cannot wait until The Masked Singer returns on Wednesday for another exciting night!
