The CW fall program lineup is starting to form! We’re a little sad because we’ve lost some of our familiar superhero shows that the network used to feature, such as The Flash, Superman & Lois, and Arrow, but the CW will have some friendly faces returning. In addition to new movies, there will be a few new television series and the occasional miniseries.
What Movies are Coming Out on The CW?
There will be several original movies to premiere this fall on The CW. We have:
Montana Mavericks
Starring in this western-themed romance is Katherine McNamara (Mia Smoak-Queen of Arrow) as a novelist based in NYC. While fighting off writer’s block, she finds out she inherits a family ranch in Montana. Then the city girl goes out west. Also starring is Dennis Andres (Ian from Workin’ Moms).
The Dachshund Wears Designer
(AKA Paws in the City) It feels as though this movie may not have a permanent name as of yet. Here we have Emeraude Toubia from Shadowhunters as Issa. Issa, a social media strategist, has been down on her luck and now takes care of a diva dachshund. Playing Theo in this film is Carter Jenkins.
Recipe for Romance
Food is sounding great right now! In this flick, we follow the story of two sworn enemies who work in the food industry. They work at competitive cafés in Toronto’s Little Manila. True O’Brien plays Sari, and Alex Mallari Jr. (from Ginny & Georgia fame) portrays Gabe. Note: the possible title name may be Sweet on You.
Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell
Here we have Savannah (Savvy) Sheldon, played by Amber Riley of Glee, who has just broken off a dead-end relationship, and she has a thankless job. Then she inherits her grandmother’s kitchen. Also starring is Dorian Gray as Isaiah. Gray was from the show Transplant as Charles.
Ordinary Girl in a Tiara
This movie is about a budding romance between two women who were former rivals, Caro and Philippa. Caro is played by Katharine King So from Transplant (Joanie), and Philippa is played by Kathryn Gallagher from the series You (Annika), Gossip Girl (Heidi), and The Flash (where she guested as Lia).
Second Guessing Fate
Speaking of The Flash, we see Caitlin/Frost actress Danielle Panabaker starring as a busy event planner who has given up on finding love. A visit to a fortune teller reveals that she’s only “one last horrible date away from true love.” Also featured in this is the Hallmark romance movie king himself, Corey Sevier.
A Few Final Thoughts
While The CW may have lost some of its long-running shows, there’s plenty more in store for viewers. Those craving romance certainly won’t be disappointed.
