Jason Statham returns as Adam Clay in “The Beekeeper 2″ trailer, fighting rogue agents from his former organization. The footage, released Thursday, Oct. 15, shows Clay taking on the Beekeepers themselves, according to Polygon.
The preview showcases stylized action with new cast members and confirms a Jan. 15, 2027 theatrical release.
What “The Beekeeper 2” Trailer Shows
The clip opens with Jeremy Irons’ character laying out the stakes for Clay. He explains that the Beekeepers have gone rogue and that Clay “is the only one who can stop them,” according to Polygon. Irons’ character later warns Clay directly that the group wants “complete control of the government, and they’re prepared to kill anyone who gets in their way,” per the outlet.
Statham’s Clay responds with the kind of close-quarters violence that defined the first film. In one standout moment, he jams a flamethrower into a henchman’s mouth before delivering the line, “Next time, don’t be so hotheaded,” according to Polygon.
The trailer also features Clay behind the wheel of a 1969 Dodge Super Bee rigged with a passenger-side minigun, a detail that signals bigger vehicular action than the original movie offered. Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” plays over the footage, giving the preview a heavier, more aggressive tone.
Returning And New Cast In “The Beekeeper 2”
Statham reprises his role as Clay, the former operative turned one-man cleanup crew. Jeremy Irons joins the cast as a character who briefs Clay on the Beekeepers’ betrayal, according to Polygon.
Pom Klementieff makes her debut in the Beekeeper series with this sequel. Klementieff previously appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and “Mission: Impossible, Dead Reckoning,” giving her an established action resume heading into the role, per Polygon. The sources do not specify whether any other cast members from the first film return alongside Statham.
Behind The Camera And Release Plans
The original Beekeeper was directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer. Ayer had previously worked with Statham on The Working Man, according to Polygon.
For the sequel, Timo Tjahjanto steps in as director. Tjahjanto previously directed The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays, according to Polygon. Umair Aleem worked on The Beekeeper 2 screenplay after Kate.
“The Beekeeper 2” is set to premiere in theaters on Jan. 15, 2027, according to Polygon. That date gives fans roughly three months from the trailer’s release to see the full film.
Why The Sequel Matters For Action Fans
The original film built on Statham’s physical performance and Ayer’s approach to action. Tjahjanto brings a reputation for intense fight sequences, suggesting the sequel will escalate from the first film.
The trailer confirms the central conflict: Clay against rogue Beekeepers, with Irons’ character guiding him on the mission.
