Taylor Swift attended the 2026 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 17, wearing a strapless icy-blue Dior ballgown designed by Jonathan Anderson. The singer closed out the evening with a performance, according to Just Jared.
The Academy Museum Gala, now in its sixth year, is sometimes called the Met Gala of the West because of its Los Angeles setting. This year’s event celebrated filmmaker and composer John Carpenter and honored Oscar winner Charlize Theron and two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo.
Taylor Swift’s Dior Gown At The Academy Museum Gala
Swift‘s gown featured a softly ruched bodice, a finely pleated flowing skirt, a dramatic train and a sparkling bow detail at the neckline, giving the look a modern Cinderella aesthetic, according to Just Jared. The dress was designed by Jonathan Anderson, who also created Swift’s custom Dior wedding gown for her ceremony with Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
Swift, 36, had gotten a shoulder-length trim earlier in October and wore her hair in a curly, half-up style for the gala, Us Weekly reported.
Diamond Jewelry From Chopard
Swift paired the gown with a suite of diamond jewelry. She wore platinum earrings set with 32.40 carats of diamonds from Chopard.
She also wore an 18-karat gold ring set with 5.78 carats of diamonds from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection, along with a platinum and diamond bracelet from the same collection. Us Weekly reported the bracelet carries 5.04 carats of diamonds.
Swift’s Performance And The Night’s Honorees
Swift was set to perform and close out the evening’s program at the gala. Academy Museum officials welcomed her appearance, saying in a statement, “Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world. We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
The gala’s dual focus this year on Carpenter’s work as a filmmaker and composer, alongside honors for Theron and Domingo, placed Swift’s performance at the center of a night built around film preservation and recognition of major industry figures.
