Henry Cavill Pushes Warhammer 40K Show On Amazon Prime

Warhammer 40K

Warhammer 40K has been in a rut in the last year, with delays from Amazon on a script. Yet, the day came when Games Workshop and Amazon finally agreed on Henry’s new project for Warhammer 40K. From tabletop to TV, phone, and monitor screen, Warhammer 40K is finally on the move to become an adaption.

While the IP has been on the fence since Amazon acquired the rights to Warhammer 40K, a report came in and announced that things are finally on the move for the Amazon adaptation. Henry announces that he wants to celebrate by going to an old store that he once bought figurines from and buying some in celebration. Henry Cavill has shared his love for the series multiple times and even put hours into playing Space Marines 2 on PC. He has been chosen as the director and star of the adaptation since its announcement.

Being on the Witcher Series from Netflix and Superman from the DCU fans became excited, me included, to hear that Cavill will be bringing a passion of his to life on the screen for everyone like him to enjoy. While fans are sad to see him leave since the announcement, it was said that Henry Cavill will return for the Witcher role in the final season of the Netflix series.

December 2024 created a deadline by Games Workshops in a mutual agreement that they must agree on creative guidelines for the series for Amazon to retain the rights to the IP. Without a doubt, Henry Cavill was a dealbreaker for both companies. Not wanting to disappoint the soon-to-be star of the adaption. Henry comments that his team and himself have “been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world.”

While there is currently nothing on the narrative or where the story will be taking place, Henry has reassured everyone that they will be working hard together to bring it all to life. Henry and his team have been “sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe.” All of course with the grace of Amazon and Games Workshops.

Future of the Series

As a Warhammer 40K enjoyer, I hope it’s as gruesome and fierce as the games portray them. I am not asking for gore and crazy scenes but being a massive mobile tank, it’s hard for them to not hold back as they are against major forces like the insect-like plague known as Tyranids, or even the space magic enemies called Heretics.

Even when they aren’t fighting, the designs of the characters throughout the series can give some nightmares from floating skulls to bodies being heavily modified and looking like walking corpses. It will be very interesting how everything is going to be displayed moving forward and it’s gotten me excited for the future.

While we are just getting warmed up, Warhammer fans can safely say we are in good hands. After the success of the Space Marines 2 video game, it will undoubtedly follow the success. Especially with Henry Cavill at the helm, it will for sure be as accurate as they can hit.

Amazon has been setting itself up with success as they continue to knock adaptions out of the park with Fallout starting its season 2 production, and the anthology series Secret Level releasing. Anticipation is rising with Amazon’s adaptation of Sony Santa Monica’s God of War games, as lovers of the series are excited to see their favorite God of War, Kratos come to life as it starts development.
