Of an Age came out on February 17th, 2023, and was directed by Goran Stolevitzki. The film follows the story “During the summer of 1999, an 18-year-old amateur ballroom dancer has an unexpected and intense 24-hour romance with a friend’s older brother.” Of an Age stars Matthew Page, Tom Green, and Louise Child. Overall, critics and audiences thoroughly enjoyed the film, giving it a 7.1 out of 10 on IMDb ratings with close to 5,000 votes and accruing 2 awards and nine nominations in the last year. The heartfelt romantic drama will be leaving Peacock in October, so check it out before it’s too late.

Monkey Man

Monkey Man was released on April 5, 2024, and was directed by Dev Patel. Universal Studios budgeted 10 million dollars for the film and was backed by none other than Jordan Peele. Monkey Man follows, “A young man ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he’s beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, he discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.”

The movie stars Dev Patel, Paul Angunawela, and Jown Colee. Critics and audiences have been polarized by this film, giving it a 6.9 out of 10 on IMDb with almost 75,000 votes. Monkey Man has also gained recognition amongst critics, winning three awards so far this year. The film was distributed by Universal Pictures and follows the story of “A 227 kg black bear consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage through a Georgia forest, endangering the lives of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers.” Cocaine Bear stars Keri Russell, Alden Ehrenreich, and O’Shea Jackson Jr.

After Cocaine Bear’s initial release, it had garnered 90 million worldwide at the box office. While audiences loved the hilarious film, reviewers did not.
