The 1985 classic Back to the Future was directed by Robert Zemeckis and originally released in theaters on July 13th, 1985. The film follows, “Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown.” Although the film had a very modest 19 million dollar budget, it grossed almost 400 million dollars worldwide at the box office. Making Back to the Future was one of the most popular movies of the ’80s.

As of right now, Back to the Future remains stable at 8.5 out of 10 on IMDb with 1.3 million votes and ranks number 30 on their list of greatest movies ever. However, the film legacy surpassed its release and premiered two other films, making the franchise a trilogy. The trilogy starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. To many audiences demise, the trilogy will be removed on October 1st, 2024.

Hacksaw Ridge

The 2010 two-time Oscar-winning film Hacksaw Ridge is sadly joining the list of films leaving Netflix on October 1st. Directed by Mel Gibson and starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, and Luke Bracey, the film follows “World War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, serving during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.” The movie was created with a 40 million dollar budget and grossed 180 million dollars worldwide at the box office.

The film was nominated five times in 2017, and it won Oscars for sound mixing and film editing, while its nominations continued for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, Best Achievement in Directing, and Best Motion Picture of the Year. As of right now, the film is ranked 189th best film with an 8.1 out of 10 on IMDb. Catch Hacksaw Ridge on Netflix one last time before it’s too late.

Monster House

There are so many amazing movies on the list leaving Netflix this month; however, the loss of Monster House on October 1st will be felt by many Halloween fans, for the animated classic horror comedy will be gone before the season ever starts. Monster House was directed by Gil Keenan on a budget of 75 million dollars. The film doubled their investment and grossed 141 million dollars worldwide, and that success came with a massively loyal fanbase.

Monster House followed: “Three teens discover that their neighbor’s house is a living, breathing, scary monster.” Simple, scary, and fun for a wide range of movie lovers. The movie was nominated for the best-animated feature of the year in 2007 at the Oscars. Many lovers of the film rush to watch the animation one last time before October to start their spooky season right. Which is why it’s on the list.
