Hulu Doubles Down on ‘King of the Hill’ Revival with Two-Season Order

Many adult animated shows have graced our television screens, including “King of the Hill.” It followed the humorous yet insightful lives of a small family from Arlen, Texas. Brought to us by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the series premiered in 1997. It quickly achieved great popularity, eventually leading to worldwide syndication and two Emmy wins.

The show ran for 13 seasons before it came to an end in 2010. However, it recently returned on Hulu for a fourteenth season, showcasing the characters’ modern lives. A fifteenth arc is confirmed to be coming to the renowned streaming service. But would you believe that they have also ordered two more seasons?

“King of the Hill” on Hulu

“King of the Hill” Season 14 begins with Hank and Peggy returning from Saudi Arabia. They’re shocked to discover their beloved hometown has changed during their absence. But they manage to accept and adapt to the new status quo. Also, Hank struggles to occupy his free time now that he’s retired. Some of his latest escapades involve brewing his own beer and working as a handyman.

The B-plot revolves around Hank and Peggy’s now-grown son, Bobby. He’s working as the head chef of a robata restaurant in Dallas. His specialty is combining aspects of Japanese and German cuisines into eccentric yet delicious dishes. When not cooking, he tackles the typical struggles of everyday young adult life. He’s also determined to reconnect with his childhood friend and ex-girlfriend Connie.

The “King of the Hill” Hulu revival received much positive reception from many. Critics and longtime fans adored how modernized it felt but retained the original’s charm. The only nitpick is that it felt too short, and certain stories felt lacking. Regardless, Season 14 became Disney+ and Hulu’s most-watched show since 2020. And the show is returning in 2026 for Season 15.

More Seasons on the Way

Recently, an announcement revealed the show received a renewal for two additional seasons. The update came in the form of a YouTube video featuring the series’s prominent characters. There’s little information about the future sixteenth and seventeenth seasons. What we know for sure is that the original voice cast is returning. The only exceptions are Johnny Hardwick and Jonathan Joss for apparent reasons.

This news is exciting for “King of the Hill” fans everywhere, nevertheless. We’re getting more silly adventures with Hank and the boys from Rainey Street. And there’s no telling what kind of crazy shenanigans Peggy and Bobby will get into. There’s also a chance we could find out what’s happening regarding Luanne and Lucky. The only thing we can do now is wait to find out for sure.

Final Thoughts

I’m overjoyed to hear that “King of the Hill” got renewed for more seasons. This show had been one of my favorites since my college days. And I adore the Hulu revival, often rewatching my preferred episodes whenever I want. It’s a genuine continuation that has aged the characters while keeping its predecessor’s vibe.

Personally, I’m hoping the next seasons further explore Bobby and Connie’s evolving adult relationship. And reveal why Hank left Strickland Propane and moved to Saudi Arabia. I’d also love to see them address or explain the absence of Luanne and Lucky. Maybe it’ll happen once 2026 rolls around with Season 15. Until then, we can relive the fourteenth season over on Hulu.
